ahhh.. yes you're right it was updated to 2.1.. For some reason I thought it was 1.1 updated to 2.0. But I just checked the version.
But still, Ive had the phone for a few weeks and just in the last 2 days have I started getting dropped calls. 10/3/2008 7:26:38 PM |

which part of cary? i live in northeast-ish cary and work around here too (on the 40 end of harrison) and i've never had a dropped call - in fact, i've rarely (if ever) seen below 4 bars... you upgraded to 2.1 right? 2.1 DRAMATICALLY improved reception for me...10/6/2008 12:04:27 PM |

^^nice find! Street view would be awesome on the iphone. Although not sure how well it would work on 3G.
Also the toggle on/off for autocomplete/autocorrect is also a nice feature to have on the on-screen keyboard. 10/6/2008 1:30:29 PM |

copy/paste would be useful every now and then but what I really want is MMS, I can't think of one legit reason why they won't put MMS on this thing other than them just wanting to save face by not admitting that they were wrong for not including it in the first place 10/6/2008 4:21:38 PM |

Does anyone here have access to the Apple iPhone Developer site? If so, can they get the beta 2.2 OS and send it to me?
I just cant see spending $100 for developer access...
PS> if you have your student accounts you can sign up free...... So dont complain that you spent the cash and now you are hording the new beta OS.

was having a problem with the screen resolution changing on the bottom right of the screen. the screen would freeze anything in that corner that i had for too long, and the spot was slowly but surely getting bigger
so i went over to the apple store. the guy looked at it for a few minutes and he's like do you have everything backed up? i did, so i waited for a little while longer and they replaced the iphone. i was really surprised that they did it and it was so easy.

I, for one, have never had a problem with Apple's customer service, or the Genius Bar. They have always fixed my problems on the spot, and if they couldn't, they have replaced parts, hardware or entire computers without even a hint if suspicion or resistance, and they have never asked for a restocking fee or anything.
but.... if you look back through this or other Apple threads, you will find people who claim to have other experiences, where Apple refused to replace faulty hardware that was under warranty. I'm usually pretty skeptical of these claims, but i guess it might happen10/13/2008 12:17:14 AM |

Even though I had to pay (but not full price) they swapped out my 3g iphone because the entire screen was shattered without any issues. They said since it was accidental and its not directly covered under warranty I wouldn't have to pay full price for a new unit. 10/13/2008 12:23:09 AM |
