Ithink so. basically, they ask anything, and he answers short of self incrimination.... the objections are noted, and the judge then will strike items when the objection is sustained.

Jesus, this has got to be terrible for the jurors. The whole point of the deposition is so they can gather the information and boil down the relevant questions during the trial. Unfortunately, the prosecution apparently sucks so hard that when they do have real witnesses, their questioning isn't focused or leading at all. Then they end up just playing the full deposition? Ugh.

I have only caught bits and pieces over the last few weeks, but everything I have watched has been a bunch of irrelevant bullshit. If I were a juror, I'd let the guy off just to spite the DA because they seem so unorganized and unfocused.

defense originally didn't want this or most of the deposition shown. judge allowed most but there are some redacted parts. they accidentally showed the jury part of the redacted part.

basically there wasa question about an ex that he lived with in college. the next question was something like when was the last time you talked to her and he said "i tried to get in touch with her a couple of weeks ago".

then it stopped, jury was sent out... and it became apparent that the question and answer was supposed to be excluded. and the defense is like "THIS WAS THE ISSUE WE HAD WITH PLAYING THE VIDEO GODDAMN IT"
