Yeah the standard battery is 1300 or 1500, I can't remember. This battery definitely is thicker but it doesn't bother me at all. The only con is that I had already gotten the car mount from Verizon which was custom made to fit the Incredible and since mine is thicker now, it doesn't fit in that. Other than that, it feels fine.7/18/2010 6:57:32 PM |

I wasn't overly impressed with how the Captivate looked on the internet but actually having it in my hands, it looks amazing. It is very light for how big it is. Today I am wearing a pair of "fratty" ralph lauren shorts (point being they're a little on the tight side) and I didn't notice it in my pocket at all. The only issue i'm having so far is getting a driver to work with it.. but i'm about to try Samsung Kies. 7/18/2010 9:02:45 PM |

Don't think there's any way around the security policies. I believe there's an app out that prevents you from having to enter a pin to unlock if you have a security policy that requires it but don't remember the name of it. 7/19/2010 4:29:27 PM |

one of my good friends from work went to a Verizon today at lunch. His contract was up with Sprint and he was looking around for a new phone. He went to T Mobile to look at the Galaxy S, then Verizon for the X and decided he wanted the Droid X. The people in front of him were ordering an X and were told there's would be shipping next week. When it was his turn, he told them he was thinking of switching carriers but was checking on ship date for the X vs him going next door to get the Galaxy S today they took him to a 2nd line and he walked out with an X 10 minutes later I guess they keep a few for people considering switching haha.
Either way, he let me borrow it for awhile today to carry around and mess with and I have to say, actually having it free and not tethered/locked to a base in the store it didn't feel as big as I thought it did in the store. 7/19/2010 6:12:14 PM |

^^ good point. When I was borrowing my friend's X today I was listening to Pandora for awhile and noticed that as well. It didn't really affect me because my headphones have the adjuster on the cord and I tweaked it that way. 7/19/2010 7:24:12 PM |

What kind of fine tuning do you need other than the volume rocker? (assuming you have one on whatever phone you have as most phones do)
And curious, what kind of headphones do you guys use with your mobile phones? With the ones I use the upper limit never seems loud enough

I'm sure they'll find root. Whether or not they find a way around having to have a signed rom is another question. Luckily it won't really break the device and all you have to do is flash a legit motorola rom. 7/19/2010 9:35:49 PM |

Easiest way to get rid of bloat is to obtain root access and then download Root Explorer from the market. You can then go to system/app and delete them. Do some research and don't delete apps like messenger and google talk. This would have a very negative impact on your phone.
I did this on both my g1 and my new Galaxy. On the nexus I just flashed cyanogen's rom.
The X will no doubt get root, but it would be a damn miracle if you could flash a custom ROM on it though. 7/19/2010 10:52:47 PM |

Wait... I was thinking the whole Android thing meant customizability and openness.. what's all this about being required to keep spamware? I get having a core browser, core e-mail app... but something like Blockbuster?
It may sound petty but that's a pretty big downer for the X for me. I've been knocking around the idea of moving away from the iPhone line (aka the epitome of big brother).
Can you just hide the crap-apps / bury them on a last page kind of thing?

using some cheap $20 sony earbuds, the volume rocker on the incredible goes something like this:
1. silent 2. too loud to hear someone calling my name unless i'm looking them 3. too loud to hear the phone on my desk ringing 4. damn, that's loud, but good for drowning out airplane engine noise 5. OMG, THIS MUST BE WHAT MADNESS SOUNDS LILKE!!! 6. (never been higher than 5)7/19/2010 11:52:51 PM |
