Congratulations, Shaka Smart, you would be at least the 11th best coach in the ACC. People seem to forget that Leonard Hamilton is fucking awful.

Four good games in March doesn't make Smart a good coach, not when his limited experience says he's mediocre.

Give him a little credit. FSU is FSU, but consider that this year they were the 3rd best team in the ACC and they whooped us twice.

Then consider that VCU was totally outclassed physically. FSU was blocking their shots left and right. VCU's players lost their legs and couldn't make FTs down the stretch.

And they still won.

Not saying he's the truth, but he'd do a helluva lot better with our team than 5 conference wins.

doesnt change the fact that shaka could be great. 9-0 in postseason now (yea cbi whatever). hey, v had some shitty reg seasons too

plus if he sucks he's probably only making Lowe money and can be fired easily

my worst case scenario is we hire a turgeon or brey, pay them 2.8mil for X years where X is a long ass time and they cant handle the acc for whatever reason (be it greenberg, sendek or tony bennett style) and we cant fire them

I don't understand why everyone thinks we either hire a big name or we're forced to shut down basketball.

There are plenty of good mid-majors out there who can get us to consistent tourney appearances and 10+ conference wins considering how much talent we have. Walk before you run, and all that.

Sometimes we look really good. If he came back next year we'd probably win ~6-7 games. Junior Zo Brown + Harrow + Leslie + Senior Wood + Howell + Painter = enough experience and talent to win a couple NCAA tourney games with just about anyone coaching
