I think it's pretty clear that Walt (or whoever it is that is communicating with Michael) has the ability to put things on the screen or take them away when they want.

BTW, they need to fix up that smoke monster shit. It looks like Pigpen from Peanuts is riding around on The Great Gazoo. It was a good episode, I guess.

Oh, and thanks to Time Warner's amazing DVR, the images in the smoke monster looked like a whole bunch of pixellation.

in the smoke: various Nigerians - There is a woman with a head rag, an upside down image of a man, multiple images of various other men and I believe I saw the drug dealer who Eko killed too.

Makes me think that the "monster" is able to read minds...maybe see people Eko killed? A lot of people on this island have killed people (Kate, Eko, Sawyer, Jack in a round about way, Sayid) which may all tie together at some point.

Great episode tonight and next week's looks good too. Looks like Michael has gone crazy which would support the idea that he is just seeing things on the computer screen.
