I always liked ice hockey better than blades of steel :x that's probably a minority opinion tho, blades of steel was fantastic.

You can definitely debate gameplay for either side but in terms of game depth you just can't argue with the tournaments, fighting, power plays, and penalty shots of Blades of Steel...plus how cool is that name? Has there been a better name for a hockey game EVER?

i went and picked up the last wii at game stop today... finally i have one. wii sports is so crazy, i love the boxing, i need to learn how to upper cut though.

also bad news for the contra fans, they disabled the 30 men code. well actually have to beat the game legit. i keep dying on the third level where your climbin up the wall fighting the thing with the drills. unbeatable...

You have to dodge when he comes in for the kill, and you have to use the flame thrower to distroy the missles before they get to you.

that took me ages through trial and error. but to do "power punches" pull up on the remote/nunchuck instead of pushing forward. It may be my ghetto rigged way (dont know the official way) but I wreck shop now that I can do it semi-on command.

beating 1400 rated boxers is intense shit

yeah keep playing, you'll eventually get to a black guy named mark, or mike. i forget. but he has golden gloves. he's around level 1400 i think. anyway, once you beat him, you'll get to use his gloves.

you get about 75 per fight up to 1000 then it gets down to like 40 or so if you pound them...


be forwarned


after 1000 if you scrape by and barely beat them your score will go down :x

yeah, i dont remember how many people you have to fight. if i had to guess, it was around 60-70. but the points you gain each match depend on how fast you can KO and how much damage you take. i was murdering them all until i got to matt. after him, its a whole other story. you have to use dodging or you'll lose very quickly.

Heh, I just walked into the Wal-Mart on Kildaire Farm Rd today and saw three classic controllers sitting on the shelves. First time I tried to find any. There is still one left as of 20 minutes ago.

they're still pretty unresponsive but it's still awesome. the first -real- boxing game might be the best game i ever buy

adam how do you do power punches ? same way as I ? and do you land them with consistancy ?

I'm only 1200 or so rating so I guess i haven't gotten there yet

is this sunday the turning point....the demand for these things has to be slowing, they are going off every minute on ebay, seems like numbers are down there (1200 or so machines) does that mean they are super scarce again, or that people have given up selling them for profits? who knows, i think this sundays shipment will be the turning point and the wii madness is not long for this world (at least the madness of paying above retail)

like i said, not necessarily excited about it. was the first one any good? i get the feeling people buy rockstar's games simply because they're overly violent and controversial. i know everyone goes ape shit over grand theft auto, but i dislike all those games.

i do, however, believe having rockstar on board as well as the announcement of guitar hero and square discussing the possibility of additional support shows that developers are taking notice of the wii's dominance over the ps3 thus far.
