I'm not gonna lie - after watching both plays several times I do think the Duke player cutting the UNC player was worse. I think the UNC hit on the wide receiver was just meant to be a bump to interrupt the play which was made worse by him tripping on his leg. Definitely dirty, but not absurdly so. The Duke retaliation was pretty bad though, you can see him clearly lunge at the guys ankles, that is a sort of play that has a much higher chance of creating an injury. I think both players should have been suspended.

the UNC defender had NO business going anywhere near the Duke receiver in the first place. That he might have "tripped" over the receiver's leg doesn't change a damn thing: the defender was intending to hit the Duke player from the get-go, and he intended to hit the receiver without the receiver even knowing it was coming. That deserves a serious punishment and one game doesn't cut it.

The cut block on the UNC player was inside the tackle box. It is a legal cut block. Granted the play was no where near him and it was completely unnecessary. But doesn't change the fact it was legal.

I seem to recall stories of band members driving around their campus playing the Red and White song. The funny thing is apparently unc students typically crowd around and clap and cheer until "GO STATE," at which point they realize it isn't their fight song.

They really think they are something over there. And I remember reading an article about this 'GSR' stat the other day and Emmert was talking about how it is really going up, he seemed proud. Makes me think he is less likely to shoot down the cheats and expose that these numbers mean absolutely nothing.

When kicking people off your team for not meeting standards hurts your graduation rates, I'm ok with them being lower than the norm. Rather run a clean program than bend over backwards to keep your athletes eligible....

And seriously...takes some balls to tout your graduation rates when your entire athletic department is under scrutiny for widespread systemic academic fraud.
