The hesitation on the turn convinced me to call. He revealed A6 of spades, top pair with a busted flush draw. Fortunate call I admit, but for better or worse I'll usually underrate online players' hands as opposed to overrating them.

Btw, next sit-n-go, [on the very first hand[/b], I see a 100 chip raise in an un-opened, 10/15 chip pot. It's called by a middle players, and the small blind goes all-in. Both the raiser and caller both go all-in as well. I figure it's typical online stupidity until the original raisers shows KK, the first caller shows AA, and the small blind shows QQ....

The AA guy hit a set and won...

I kinda need a quick response....I know I've asked this a few times on here, but what is the best place to do online sports betting, and is there a big difference between the existing sites, one person I know recommended bodog, anything else out there?

I think i played this ok, except for the fact i might have missed one or two bets somewhere ?

The hand went near perfect untill the river paired the board, i was scared of AQ or Q5

^ Wow... those guys are absolute idiots.

To answer a question from yesterday on here, no, there is no ring for the WSOP circuit events except of course for the main $10k event (ring, bracelet, something of the sort, I'm not sure).

Took down first in the Wynn $500 tourney today (only 62 players)... a bit of a deal was cut, but I got the most - $6,900. There was a point with 9 players left and $186,000 chips in play, that I had $92,000. I continue to be amazed by how bad the play is by the vast majority of the players in these tourneys.

So after two good live tourney days in a row, saturday is the $1,000 event at the WSOP circuit. I really need this streak to continue!

The only time ive ever seen anyone do it is with aces.

They always think its so cute and creative. its not creative when i see it probably 3 times an hour playing in tournaments.

it also basically tells me, AA. way to tip your hand.

Awesome 5 dollar sit and go. I took over 70% of his chips early, and got a little conservative. He finally went all-in after 2 4s hit the flop(I had 4 6), so I call, and of course he has a 4 with a higher kicker. I am down to 280 chips out of 2000 on the table. Next hand I get pocket 3s and he puts me all-in with his hand of KJ.
Flop: AKJ...FUCK!!!
Turn:10....I am getting ready to close the window and drink a beer
River: Q, saved on the river even though its a split pot
Long story short: I all-in two more times, take the chip lead

Much later...

I get A8 suited, he goes all-in preflop. I call the fucker for 580 chips. He shows 6 8 off.
Board: K 10 K K 2

ballgame. i love poker, but only because I am playing with won money. I hope I never become a gambleholic and start dipping into financial aid or anything. I put in 20 and have a little over 100 right now, so as long as I can keep playin cheap tables, I will be ok

I do not understand the logic of the play pre-flop. I guess you're trying to get people out, or bluff that you have a big hand (always a smart idea in omaha). I only play MTT PLO8 games on pokerroom, and it is commonplace for people to do so though... including reraising with it to the point of all-in early in the tounraments.

Anyone have a defense for the play? For example at the table I am at, this hand just potraised preflop AS,3C,2C,QC

It's 5CS with 4-straights and 4-flushes, which rank b/w one and two pair.. in that order of course

fun stuff

OMG when will I get a hand so I can make a WSOP Circuit final table?!?!?

11th today in the $1k event... paid $2,784. Once again, I am well above average all day (the play there overall is so bad), and yet once I'm in the money (about 8:30pm) until I bust at 12:30am, I saw one AK and one pair (66)... no other hands whatsoever. I hung on as long as I could (just stole blinds over and over of course, but never had a hand I could call a reraise or reraise myself with), but there's just no hope unless I get ridiculously lucky at some point when I cannot get a real hand to save my life!

It was the same way on thursday when I got 12th in the $300 event... once I made the money and played for about 4 hours after that, I could not get a freakin' hand. I got TT and AK my first two hands in the money (ran into KK both hands!), and then did not get a pair above sixes or an AQ or AK the rest of the day! Unreal.

Jon,

You are horrible and I think you should give up poker. A good player would have been able to pick up good hands when most needed.

By the way, I fully expect to hear "Nuts In You Face," sung when you make a televised final table and rake in a pot. I also have choreographed dances to show you when you swing through Raleigh.

Sincerely,
The Fox

Ill never raise with a naked A2 in plo8 preflop. Its just not a good idea. Its a + EV hand sure, but barely. you have no real draw for high, and if you get counterfeited youre pretty much boned.

Dont get me wrong, Ill limp with every naked A2 i see in plo8. but if the preflop action is going heavy, Im dumping it. You really want something more than just A2xx to go strong preflop. Your counterfeiting/quartering potential is too high.

Remember the main key to plo8 is to win the whiole pot, not just a part of the pot.

the A23Q double suited hand on the other side, is a fucking monster. Do you see why?

You have great high potential with a nut flush draw, 3rd nut flush draw, and connected cards. You have a huge low draw, with counterfeit protection. you definately want to build the pot with this hand.

imagine a flop comming out with 4c5cQh

see how many cards hit you square in the face here?

Remember, scooping in plo8 is the way to make money.

ok, i have a mental block when it comes to oh8 and i want to hear what you guys think about this. It has to do with quartering, which obviously is far more common in oh8 than stud8.
Let's say there are 3 people in a hand at the end, you have the nut low, but make one of the opponents for the same hand leaving you quartered. Also assume that there isn't enough in the put to justify calling it down since you know that the other two players are going to cap the pot. So most people say go ahead and fold since you'll be putting in a third of the money to only get 1/4 (money already in pot is small enough to be neg, like i said).

But here's the thing, if you fold, then the guy that was raising with the quartered low, now gets half the pot. So actually, his play (raising with the quartered low) was the right play no? So if you know your player is solid, and will lay down a quartered hand, then you should keep pushing to back him down and take half right? but then if both players know this then neither backs down and folding is the right play again. But as soon as folding is the right play, then betting is the right play again....haha i know this is sort of assinine, but it's why i don't really like oh8

what do you mean by encourage?

i really really like stud8, but since it's not as popular as other games, you can dominate low stakes games, but even the smallest step up in stakes makes for a much harder game

Let me set up a mock situation because a pre-flop small re-raise in NL Hold 'Em baffles me.

Seat 1 is button
2 is sb - 25
3 is bb - 50
4 folds
5 raises to 150
6 folds
7 re-raises to 300
8 folds
9 folds
1 folds
2 folds
3 folds
5 calls

in this situation... I know its a little vague because we don't know what their cards are, but what is the point in a small preflop reraise? I've seen it ALOT lately in tournaments. Its not like the person that raised at first (seat 5) will fold, so is the only time this is done is when you have a monster (AA, KK)? Do you guys do this?

I can completely see re-raising BIG pre-flop but small baffles me.

I will share a hand.............

I was at a 1/2 nl game the other day and I was actually the best player there by a lot.

Because I could get people off hands, I was experimenting with my game.

So I call from 1st position with 3-6 diamonds (typically I have never called a flop with these crappy cards, but I was experimenting)

Next guy min raises
Call
Call
Call
Call
Call
blinds fold
I call

(7 handed)

Flop

Js-3s-3c

I check from first position.
min raise guy bets 5
folded to a guy in the position. I have played with him many times as he is my brother and he reraised 10 dollars. He would be the guy to call with a-3 and I didnt know how I fealt about this raise.

I call
minraise guy calls

turn a 6

I check because of the previous round of action I was going to reraise.
it was checked around.

river the 3

I have quads and bet out 25. (I have another 40ish behind me)

both call.

min raise had aces
and my brother had jacks and flopped a boat and I cased him.

I checked the river, expecting him to check and show a winner, but that bet he made on the river SCREAMED "I've got A high" or "I missed my draw," so I figured a minimum bet check/raise would win it... and he folded immediately. All he had to do was check and show down the winner (no doubt he had T high beat), but he made an obvious bluff on the river (who value bets that river unless you just boated up?), so I went for it.

thats what i was cheering for, lay it down and cut your losses hahahah

but when 23 ends up crushing AJ or whatever you had on the last hand, its probably just time to call it a night

this hand almost wasn't fair, but it was the guy's own fault for calling with a crappy hand

In a tournament today, there were two guys all in preflop, the stacks were getting low in relation to the blinds,

AsKs
Ah Qh

AsKs flops a royal.

ahaha

I was going to save the HH, but that bust broke the table, and I didnt get it open in time. Im too lazy to request a HH.

So im playing in a plo rebuy tournament, and see that turner is in it as well, ill sweat his table.

kid just went bananas. ahaha

two consecutive hands with AA(two related cards) with 3 way allins, is a quick way to make your less than avg stack explode to chip leader.

esp. the fact that drawy assed boards came up, but the Aces held up in a three way pot in consecutive hands.

impressive mr. turner indeed!

now ive got to double up to catch back up =(

see you at the final table

man this sucks.

now im sitting with the chip leader directly to my left. he has 150 more chips than i do. the avg is 15k, we both have about 50. there are still 9 tables left, and our table is stacked deep as fuck.

great draw poker stars.

again, that was really dumb.

so as it turns out, it wasnt that bad of a move there.

I figured him for aces, kings, or a flush draw.

against the basically naked aces it was only 58/42.

but i shouldnt have blown 25k chips on that, no matter what.
