in reference to the wedding dress talk on the previous page, an old roommate of mine got married in a jcrew dress and her bridesmaids all had jcrew dresses on, the wedding was gorgeous. everyone was also wearing rainbow flip flops. it was really sweet and simple, i loved it.

se7entythree, i know you said you don't want to show off your scar, but to me, scars like that have a lot character. i have one running down my entire back that i plan on letting all hang out because i love it, but maybe i'm just weird

i'll try to find some pictures of simple cute wedding dresses since i don't have much else to do at work today

this one has pockets! $1500

if you are looking for a wedding dress, you need to go to a store and try on different styles.

what you think you want is almost never what you will really like. plus almost everything i found online that i was in love with was way too expensive. i had all these dresses picked out from looking online, and the one i actually got is NOTHING like them. (i also wanted something simple.. i am not a ball gown/princess kinda girl)

if you try on lots of different dress you can figure out what is going to best flatter your body. if you go to a larger store they will have all kinds of options... i got my dress in Burlington and i tried on everything from a ball gown to a simple sheath dress... lots of beading and lace to no adornment at all.
if you have lots of $$$ to spend, i recommend checking out Diva's in Greensboro.

i found a dress that was perfect for me for less than $500 too... which is nice considering the ones i saw online were all like $1500.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with surfing the crimson tide. If you can get over the whole modesty issue, sex while on your period is great. Extra lubrication. Relief from cramps and general icky feelings. Also, a little positive attention never hurts.

I've always found that I am far more hung up on the fact that I am on my period than my guy is. He is all like "whatever. if it'll make you feel better to shower before hand. . .but I don't care." and I am all like "EEK!"

Now, after many many years, I am over it. And my husband is always willing to lend assistance to cramp relief, even if he isn't in the mood.

Anyone else going gray?

I'm about to turn 24. I haven't counted in a long time but I have at least ten gray hairs. I noticed tonight I'm starting to get a gray and red streak going at the center of my forehead

I truly don't want to know how many I have. That count of ten was back in 2005

The only reason why I don't have sex during my period is I get severe cramps after being fucked during that time and they hurt like HELL.

But at the trickling end I'm cool with it.

Anyone know of a good place for right-hand rings that aren't outrageously priced? My husband keeps asking about Christmas and I'd like to give him some direction if you guys could tell me where he can get something with diamonds and amythests in white gold. For us, I'd say "outrageously priced" would be over $250. Though I'd honestly hate it if he spent more than $100 on a right-hand ring for me.

There's a jewelry store in Crabtree that's closing. I wanna say it's the one beside Banana Republic. They had some serious deals on jewelry. I wanted this set of pearl studs that were like 80% off (they were still $Delaware though).

^^OATMEAL! What a perfect Xmas gift, I'll tell Hubby right away! (Can I get it from you tomorrow???)

^Yea, Whitehall Jewelers is also going out of business in Cary Towne Center, and that's where we got our wedding rings and stuff, so I may just send him there and hope our guy is still working there. I'm just paranoid there won't be any good stuff left, since they've been "one foot in the grave" for like 4mos now.

But my mom always told me to make sure my guy "marries" both my hands lol. Meaning I better get two rings outta the deal haha.

Last month, I found my first gray hair when looking at this photo. I was so upset. My husband made it even worse because he said that this was just the first one that *I* noticed. Now, I see gray hairs EVERYWHERE. All over my head. I should have never stopped coloring my hair.

Sure but I'm not a jewelry person at all, and rings are pretty much my limit. I rarely wear earrings (only on special occasions) and I never wear necklaces and bracelets. I could tell him to get me a gift certificate for mani/pedi though - I get those every 3 weeks!

You should start wearing jewelry. Even if it's just a necklace. I think every girl should wear something. Especially if you have your ears pierced. It's so tacky to just walk around with holes in your ears. (Well to me it is)

I've never been a real girly girl as far as jewelry goes. It took a few months just getting used to wearing my engagement ring all the time. I could probably get some kind of studs for my ears - do they make some that stay in all the time? Because if I had to take them out every night, I guarantee I'd forget to put them in the next morning, haha. For a few days after we got engaged, I'd take my engagement ring off at night and forget it the next morning.

I have six holes in my ears, but I never wear earrings (or any other jewelry) any more.

I don't even wear my engagement and wedding rings most of the time because I am constantly washing my hands.

If you want even lower care earrings, captive bead rings are where it's at. I put Swarovski crystals in mine instead of the normal metal bead. The crystals are available at any bead store, about a buck each (although I prefer 5mm bicones and most places only carry 4 and 6 so I order them online). I get small rings, 16g so they don't hurt when putting my helmet on but I might go to 14. If it's your first pair get 18g, since normal earrings are 20g but with a little bit of effort you can get them in.

i'm a natural redhead and redheads lose their hair color pigment before any other hair color so i started going grey when i was like 12. i dye my hair dark now and it seems to do the trick. i will pluck out a stray here and there in between dye jobs but my hair dresser told me if i do, the hair will come back coarser than before. i dont know if i believe her or not. it always comes back straight.

Heh.
One of my grays came out just now.

~14" gray, ~1.5" transition, and ~6" brown.

At least it's the shiny, silvery gray.

k here we go.

it's actually a bridesmaid dress, but it's not like it has a giant label on it that says so. a couple people actually told me to look at them since they're more plain than wedding gowns, i just happened to come across this one though.

i wouldn't have the black sash. i'd do white, or match the color of the matron of honor (mom) and bridesmaid (TroopofEchos). probably just white...

whatcha think?

just an opinion here, but are you sure you want your mom to be your MOH? the mothers have a specific place in a wedding, especially the mother of the bride. they get walked down the aisle separate from the bridesmaids and groomsmen, they have a special place on the programs...i wanted my mom to be my MOH as well, but was told by numerous people that the mom's have their own special distinguishing places in the wedding, so i should choose my best friend, sister, or close relative for the honor.

I've been going gray since I was seven. I dye my hair with a translucent dark brown and it makes all my otherwise orange hair look a nice distinguished mahogany. The texture on the grays is really awful if I don't iron them out. The really short ones stick right out of my head in tight corkscrews.

I got my wedding dress from J. Crew for ~$225 (Sophia in vintage burgundy) and I was really happy with it. I picked it out online and I don't think I would've done that if I weren't confident about exactly what styles best flattered my want of a figure. I think the price went up right after I ordered it. As it happened I changed my mind about the size and ended up with two dresses. One I was able to loan out to a friend for a dance and I can wear mine again for other occasions.

On period sex: blood is sticky.

I really want my hair to go gray. What I don't want is for my hair to thin out. I used to dye my hair all kinds of colors and it just got to the point I wanted to figure out what was natural. My hair is pretty much my natural color I just had some highlights put in back in April so they are have almost been cut completely out.

i went back and forth over this. i had no idea it was weird until i looked it up online. i don't care about what is traditionally done or what other people think we should do really. my mom is the female i'm closest to, so i went with it. we can rearrange who walked down the aisle when and with whom if needed. as far as other duties of a moh, i'm not having a traditional batchelorette party, if at all. i have absolutely no interest in lingerie or penis shaped straws/cakes/whatever. if the father can be the best man, why can't the mom be the moh??

if i did switch it up, let mom be mom, move ashley to moh, then i have another friend, jenny, who i could pick to be bridesmaid, but...she has a husband and they pretty much come as a couple. we get together with them a lot and we're close, but chris will have his dad as best man and brother as groomsman, and if we add jenny's husband demarris to the list then i'm one short. i don't know who else could fill a bridesmaid role. i'm pretty good friends with this girl at work but by no means on the same level as ashley or jenny. chris has a sister but we're not really close either. what do yall think?

oh, i have no sisters or cousins on my mom's side. there are a few of female cousins on my dad's but two have been banished from the family for being severe fuckups and all 3 of them i barely barely know anyway.

agreed...i thought for the longest time i would ask my mom to be matron and my bf be maid. i eventually decided against it, not b/c it would be awkward and b/c she already has a "special place" in the wedding as MOB but for other personal reasons. i don't think it's odd at all, and i think you should go for it. she may decline b/c she'd rather just be MOB...but if that's who you want, that's who you should ask

and i also think you don't need an even set of BM and GM unless you want to. so if you didn't ask your mom to MOH and just asked ashley to be maid, that's really all you need. FI can have his best man and groomsman, and you just have the one. unless you're all about symmetry.

ours are uneven with 6 ladies and 8 men.

^^jenny's husband? yes. actually demarris is more my friend/i'm closer to demarris than i am to jenny.

am i expected to include shari as a bridesmaid b/c she's chris's sister? i read that somewhere. and then if i'm including shari b/c she's chris's sister, then is chris expected to include matthew b/c he's my brother? i also read that having attendants of the opposite sex is more and more common (if i were to include matthew instead of shari), but would that be weird to yall/everybody else?

you are perfectly okay in asking your bro to be a bridesman! i asked justin if he would include my bro as a groomsman and he didn't mind. but if he had i was going to ask my bro to stand on my side. justin doesn't have any sisters, but if he did and he wanted me to include his sister as a bridesmaid i would do so.

how does you FI feel about his sisters being a bridesmaid--therein lies your answer on what you should do
