ok, so i just made the connection of the black monster smoke with the black smoke that preceeded "the others are coming", the smoke visible from the other side of the island.

really, that's the only part of the episode that i feel is worth talking about. oh wait...didn't they find another nigerian man in a tree? must be the third guy that was in the plane.

i'll also go captain obvious and say HOLY GOD WHAT A COINCIDENCE EKO ENDED UP ON THE EXACT SAME ISLAND THAT THE DRUG RUNNING PLANE THAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON CRASH LANDED ON

things that are constant like this prompts me to think on of two things:

they're all being fucked with in real life and they were all brought to the island on purpose

1. jack flashback scene 1 -> foreign family is talking to jacks dad about removing the tumor on dad's spine; jacks dad is like "it can't be done, and i won't do it" foreign guy says "we didn't come around the world for you, we came for him", points at miracle worker Jack
obviously dad isn't happy because jack thinks about it and agrees to do it

2. jack wakes up, looks for locke, who is laid out in the gun hut
when he goes to check on him, michael threatens him, and locks the door, with jack and john in it

3. kate wakes sawyer up, they go to get his bandages changed
let jack out, they decide to go after michael

4. jack flashback scene 2 -> this foreign bitch is gonna break up jack's marriage, and jack doesn't think he can fix her dad, jack goes home to find out his wife took a pregnancy test - and she didn't pass

5. jack locke and the still-doped up sawyer head off for michael, jack bitches out kate, and says she has to stay behind for the button
