I plan on getting one of those koozies sometime, and I have no intentions of going to the Harris Field Pep Rally.
And about getting a ticket at the stadium. A few of my friends never go to the stadium with tickets and ALWAYS end up with a ticket to the game. It's not the easiest thing to do in the world, but if you're looking for 1-2 then you usually get lucky. Especially if you just need 1 and don't care where you sit.
Or hang out for the first half and go in to the 2nd half when some pissed off fan or drunk old wife opts not to return to the game.

Suspension/ejection? That's not really how it works. I was surprised that it wasn't flagged though, should've been a penalty the 3 or 4 times they hit RW while he was sliding in that game.9/1/2009 11:09:23 PM |
Jkumar923 Veteran 198 Posts user info edit post |
i agree it was a nasty hit,
but in college football with all the option running attacks and things like that you can hit a player as he slides, there isn't that QB protection rule the NFL has, i had to look it up last year because i was so furious about the hit. Though the hit on RW last year was dirty because of the helmet contact, that is why it should have been penalized not because he was sliding. 9/1/2009 11:19:14 PM |

if it was a big time match-up being premiered as the ONLY game of the evening in BASKETBALL, this would not have been written. Say Duke-UNC and they were the only game of the evening, it would not be questioned 9/2/2009 1:50:20 AM |

I'm surprised the didn't complain about a 9pm tipoff which cuts the hours of sleep for students at a top institution. Oh wait, that would be basketball and it's not like UNC students actually need to do work since their grades will be inflated.
But anyway, GO PACK!!! BEAT THE COCKS!!!! 9/2/2009 7:26:57 AM |

one of the things that bothers me about our stadium is the sporadic red seats. I know you have to pay money to get them, but I think it looks horrible as is. and yes, I know you can't see them when people aren't there, but it still bothers me 9/2/2009 11:16:39 AM |

From the N*O article:
Quote : | "N.C. State football coach Tom O'Brien couldn't ask for better exposure as he tries to build his program.
The Wolfpack plays host to South Carolina on Thursday night in an ESPN telecast that will serve as the unofficial start to the college football season.
In O'Brien's third season, N.C. State has the first chance this season to expose recruits to its home facilities and program on national television. Poll voters, who mostly have ignored the Wolfpack in the preseason rankings, also have a chance to become more familiar with N.C. " |
So what is the "official" start of the cfb season? The first game played sounds about right to me?9/2/2009 12:28:13 PM |

Division II doesn't count.
However, ESPN's thursday night game is the unofficial start b/c regardless of the year/schedule, it tends to be the first game that anyone cares about watching. 9/2/2009 1:18:30 PM |

yes, vet school is free. However, you can't park in the paved area of the vet school. You have to park in that grassy area where they have half of it marked off b/c of construction. So i would plan on getting there early. I plan on leaving my apartment at 1:55 so that i'm there by 2:05.9/2/2009 1:33:42 PM |

If I didn't get a parking pass I would always find someone who did, borrow it for an hour, and go to kinkos to make a copy (or more if others needed some) since they had the right colored paper there. Then just make the cut out for it to hang on the rearview mirror and you're in. They don't look at them very closely. They mainly look for the right colored paper. 9/2/2009 1:41:02 PM |

Russell getting more national attention
Quote : | "18. The list of young quarterbacks who will be fun to watch this fall starts with Baylor sophomore Robert Griffin III. He hasn't led the Bears to the brink of relevance single-handedly. It only feels that way. Also on that list: Boise State sophomore Kellen Moore, North Carolina State sophomore Russell Wilson, Arkansas sophomore (and Michigan transfer) Ryan Mallett and Washington junior Jake Locker. Yes, a junior, but Locker missed so much of last season with a broken thumb that he still seems new. " |

the place to park is the other side of the rail road tracks. the street that runs from waffle house to shell petrolium ( i think its beryl) becuase its easy to get in and out before and after tha game (no traff) but when you cross the rr and cross hillsborough the rest of your walk is through the tailgating which is a pretty cool "walk of fanpions" 9/2/2009 5:20:16 PM |
