I played the demo for 360 at best buy the other day. Hit every note on them bones, showing up the guys playing on hard, then a small croud forms around me. I dropped the ball.

Looks like they combined Guitar Hero, Taiko Drum Master, and Karaoke Revolution together.

How long have most of you guys played GHII? I bought it when it came out and played for a month straight and then got bored with it. It was really fun for a month though.

I'm going through career on hard. I've played the ps2 version at a friends' enough that I can handle it.

I got 4 stars on Strutter on Hard with the volume muted.

i had only played a combined 10 minutes on demos before buying the game.

i'm almost through medium. this shit is hard. i haven't unintentionally failed any songs (just for the achievement you get for failing on easy) but i've gotten 3 star's on all but 4 songs on medium. hard will destroy me. i've got almost all 5 stars on easy and i guess i'll work towards the same on medium to prepare me.

question: when you buy new songs are they added to career mode?

Unless you are a guitar player (and sometimes even then) almost everyone starts off terribly at this game.

When I first started playing I failed one of the opening songs on medium, and just a week or two ago I got through Freebird on hard the first time. I still have a lot of improvement to do to be able to beat expert.

Yea playing guitar has little to do with this game, even though the best GH player I know plays guitar irl


The BIGGEST thing you will have to get used for hard/expert is sliding your fingers an 'octave' up and down where your ring finger will be on green then red. I just pictured my fingers on each of the buttons on the screen, which helped a lot. Also use the nipple on yellow to your advantage for a reference point. Play any easy hard song that goes from green to orange a lot and you will get the hang of it.

Anyway, I played GH2 during my lunch break. It's cool to see "Acheivement Unlocked" while you're playing through the song.

i play guitar and i'm not great at this game, I never got below 3 stars tho, and got 5 on a couple(usually I do better when i know the song anyway, i got five on 3 that i know well, Dead! Trippin on a hole, and War Pigs)

but when i got to tier 8 i felt like the biggest noob ever, but i was still somehow getting 3 stars... i guess i hit just enough notes

this is on medium, i'm gonna try to start hard 2day, got 3 stars on heart shaped box

ive 5-starred all of easy and medium

100% on a couple easy ones and one medium (strutter)

hard is hard, ive gotten down to the tier with psychobilly freakout on hard, but only passed madhouse i think (if thats the same tier)

the intro is far easier on real guitar

the really close together is helped by strumming down then pull straight back up rapidly [/maybe obvious] rather than trying to strum down and release rapidly
