i still think the new student seats at the bottom should've been red anodized.

really? i had no idea from looking at all those pictures...

i was saying - it'd have been badass to anodize the bleachers red so the whole end zone is red, not just the seats

^ Wow, that 3rd tier (with the extended bleachers up top) makes the red zone look fierce! They practically reach the scoreboard, looks cool. Surely hope that they finish those 2 new jumbotrons on the other side of the stadium by Sept. 2. 3 jumbotrons, sweet!

DAMMIT. I just read the N & O and ti lists Carter-Finley at 57,082 seats now. Why in the fucking hell are we not ATLEAST 60k seats!!???

also, I went by the stadium on Friday while they were having a closed practice. I talked with one of the assistant coaches and he said that the capacity wouldn't be over 58k. Fuck this bullshit.

They better count the fucking toilet seats or something.

^that makes no fucking sense to me

we must have been lying about past attendance is the only explanation for this low number

hell, we have had 56,500-57,000 in for games, and we have bigger temp bleachers now, and seating all the way around. how this has added no more than 1000 seats is mind boggling if that is true

^ & ^^

Yeah, I don't know if that is true myself either... First of all, different sources have different values for C-F stadium size. For example, Wikipedia has us right at 60K (and I don't know if that's updated with more seats due to the red zone). When the "Red Zone" project first began, alot of the publications on gopack.com had it saying that the stadium would be "over 60K" when it was completed. I would trust that source the best. And plus, as WolfMiami said, the stadium goes all the way around (a bowl), and if it was maxing out around 60K then, imagine what that # is now.

Plus, some of the methods the media uses to predict stadium size are very inaccurate. NCSU does it bigger on college football gameday than people think.

Wasnt the sellout for the VT game last year listed at 57,100 thought? Maybe their source is outdated, but i'd worry more about what the people said at practice.

Seat counts for east and west stands on on that diagram

East Upper: 8840
East Lower: 11345
West Upper:8840
West Lower:11362
SEZ: 5600 (or something)
NEZ: 7430 (based off of initial estimates, I'd imagine it's actually a little moe)
Vaughn: 2021 (approximately - 1001 seats + 51 suites at 20 people each)

Total: 55438

But you still have to add in the concourse workers and the teams and the security and ushers and whatnot.

^^
57100 for VT and UNC
57500 for Clemson

do those numbers factor in those two rows of seats in non-student sections that they put at the concourse level of the east and west stands. they're put on some red wooden platforms and the TVs hanging from the upper deck are like right in front of them.

where the wheelchairs are supposed to go?

i have no idea.

Maybe 10 per section, 16 sections = 160 more seats. Not very significant, even if they aren't included.

I say that its a fucking rip-off if we don't get atleast 60k people in the stadium. Aesthetics are nice but you shouldn't have to sacrifice seating for it. If it does come in under 60k then I believe fans should voice their disgust with a SORRY public relations job.

if our official seating is at 58,000 now, that means we've gained about 6000 seats. Most places, not all throw some things out when doing attendance. They throw out bleachers, they throw out standing room, stuff like that. That is how we can average over 100% attendance.

This year, the only thing that will get added to the 52,000 or so originally is the seats in the North End-sone. There will however be right at or over 60,000 people in the stadium for any given game. And we will still have over 100% attendance.

At least this is my take on things

I hope your take is right, or the fans should take it out on the PR people.

Its like adding a skirt and patio to a mobile home. After all of the shit you put on it to make it look like a house, in the end it is still a trailer.

like I said, those bleachers are way bigger then the two sets that were there last year and the endzone had a ton more seats then the two hills, and the few folks that sat in the fieldhouse, so if we are under 59-60k, then we were just using UNC style guesstimating last year for our attendance numbers

yes, those are counted in the total because they are LTR (the chancellor used to own a set of those)

Bleachers are not counted in stadium capacity..because they are not permanent...
The hills were rated for somewhere between 500-800 people each last year

All in all, the number they are reporting sounds correct, and then you add about 1500 in bleachers and another 1000 in staff and special seating you get over 60000

They do use the same method as UNC because there are strict rules for determining capacity...and we had 3 sets of bleachers last year, not 2

^he is referring to an article where someone with UNC athletics said that they used a visual guestimation method, because they thought that was more accurate than say, counting tickets or whatever method is used elsewhere.

so someone just makes a visual estimate then?

Those HD boards are fucking awesome though. If they ever get one at CF, I'd assume they would do the main jumbotron.

The only one I've seen was in the new Busch stadium this summer in St. Louis. Instant replay in HD....I creamed my pants a few times.

it might be possible since they are getting a new jumbotron in the rbc center.. although i would find it pointless for them to move it over to HD if the rest of it doesn't get changed.. HD cameras don't come cheap

that would piss me off....those fuckers better be up and running by saturday, in pics they are already 1/2 up, why would they start if they knew they were going to be 1/2 done, that would look fucking tacky, especially since they could just do them in the 2 week break if that was the case

Do the math:

http://www.daktronics.com/dak_news.cfm?articleID=545
Quote :
"Each of the video displays will measure approximately 17 feet high by 23 feet wide with pixels on 23 millimeter spacing."

17 feet = 5182 mm / (23 mm/pixel) = 225 pixels high
23 feet = 7010 mm / (23 mm/pixel) = 305 pixels wide

i just went out there and they have the holders up and the screens are sitting in boxes with the back exposed. based on the back one looks like it could be hd and the whole thing be a screen. the other one has some kind of big box in the back of it on the end. looks like it will be a square screen with an add screen on the side.

all speculation based on my ability to identify sports screens from the back.(never seen the back of one before today so meh)

i would've took pictures but you guys don't like my pictures.

the word from the wolfpack club offices are that the boards will be up, and video should be working on them. The only thing that might not be ready for the first game is the stat package that they will be able to display on the boards and that is because of programming and getting it all set up to use in a game.
