yeah seriously who the fuck out of all us TWW folks knows about his ethics? 10/20/2006 3:50:37 PM |

^^ hahahahaha
you talked about him simply "being covered out of the backfield like every other NFL RB"
as if that was AT ALL what we were talking about when we said "defenses accounting for him"
please point out where i am confused as to your argument
Quote : | "If he was capable of being a full time RB or WR don't you think the saints would be using him as one?" |
nope
you dont just bench a proven vet for a rookie
chemistry is key to any successful team
see........the 2006 saints
Quote : | "What the fuck kind of comparison is this? Are you serious?" |
absolutely
do you know anything about scheming an nfl defense?
do you know what players on the defense typically cover RBs?
that would be linebackers and safeties
do you know what players on the defense typically cover TEs?
that would be linebackers and safeties
body type and strength has nothing to do with it
they both draw the defenses best players
coordinators scheme to take them out of the game, and they have to use more than just one LB to do it
Quote : | "Isn't he being investigated for taking money while in college?" |
what does this have to do with weight training and skill improvement?
are you done being so angry about him?10/20/2006 4:07:34 PM |

Well if you had actually gone back and looked at one of the 2 posts where I addressed this you would have seen that this was in reference to someones comment (perhaps yours) that the fact that defenses were covering him was evidence that they were paying him special attention and that he was disrupting the defense. I just pointed out that every RB that comes out of the backfield is suppose to be picked up by someone and covered.
Quote : | "body type and strength has nothing to do with it

So your stating that strength and body type don't affect who your covered by? Also Bush does not draw the defenses best players.
Also do you still not see whats inherently wrong with your comparison of Bush to Gates?
Quote : | "what does this have to do with weight training and skill improvement?" |
Nothing thats why I posted it in reply to you saying he has good ethics. Usually when someone posts a quote right above something they type that means what they said is in reference to that. But since you've shown an inability to read and understand i could see how you might be confused.10/20/2006 4:25:19 PM |

Gametrack says Brees has the fumble.. but yeah, he just threw an INT, which as the thread creator will tell you, has nothing to do with his RB skills. He's killing my fantasy team today though..

5 carries for 16 yards 4 catches for 5 yards To be fair the Ravens played a great defensive game today and Deuce didn't do much either. I'm not going to rip Bush for that.
Here's an interesting compaison: Wali Lundy (who is a rookie) has only carried the ball in 4 games this year, he as 16 fewer caries than Bush but has rushed for 54 more yards. He is averaging 5 yards a carry. When Reggie Bush can RUN the ball like Wali Lundy, then he will be an NFL RB.
Catching the ball is great but there are a lot of guys the Saints could have gotten to do that. Their called utility players which is what Bush is RIGHT NOW. If he had Lundy's rushing numbers (adjusted for playing 7 games) and scored a few touchdowns from scrimmage I would have nothing but good things to say about the guy.
I know I sound like a broken record here but it's that simple. As of now Reggie Bush is not an NFL rb. Again, I'm not hating on him, just calling it the way it is.

^ Deuce didn't do shit because the Saints abandoned the run in the 2nd quarter. Kinda hard to get run yards when running isn't anywhere on the coaches' minds. Deuce isn't the supposed home-run hitter of the two, he needs several carries to attack the defense's throat then bust a big one when they're worn down. 10/29/2006 10:35:24 PM |

The best player in the draft was Reggie Bush??? Yeah he did fumble the ball it was a pitch but he didn't catch it. He then proceded to try to be Phillip Rivers but instead threw a sad interception. He is worth all the money they are paying him to catch a pass. Everyone says they use him differently so catching a pass is just as good as running. Lets look at LT or even Larry Johnson they both catch swing passes but they also cna run the ball. Reggie isn't that great period!!! I hope the saints keep lossing and Bush screws up even more. So far he has One punt return for a TD and one fumble and one interception. 10/30/2006 10:00:49 AM |

Well they had no choice but to suck it up against the Ravens. Payton and Marrone apparently didn't believe in the run game, as evidenced by two passes inside their own 5 yard line.. both returned for TDs... which made the hole deeper... which made us have to pass even more.
Deuce played well in the games before the Baltimore game... 12 for 64 against Philly, and 15 for 123 against Tampa. Riverdance Bush has looked like shit in every game since the Cleveland game, speaking purely from a rushing standpoint. 11/5/2006 3:09:41 PM |

He's definitely bouncing it to the outside WAY too often. I know he's not a pure "between-the-tackles" running back, but I'm surprised that he still is trying to take it to the sidelines every time he runs the ball...that's why he's getting all of these negative yards. He runs east-to-west and gets hit 3 yards deep on almost every play.
It would do him well to watch tape of the guy playing ahead of him.11/6/2006 9:14:39 AM |

Texans (+10.5) over JAGS We're now at the stage of the Mario Williams-Reggie Bush saga when every true Texan fan on the planet (A) knows that Reggie Bush is averaging only 2.6 yards per carry, and (B) had mentioned that to at least 10 of his friends in the past few days, accompanied by a line like, "Hey, maybe this worked out for the best!" And you know what? You might be right. Bush looks terrible. I know he's been a valuable decoy, but it doesn't explain why he's stutter-stepping behind the line on every rush. It looks like he spent the summer studying Thomas Jones' game films from his Arizona days. Step it up, Reggie.
Bill Simmons

We are now begining to see journalists finally criticize a guy they have been heaping undo praises on since months before he ever played an NFL snap. It took nine weeks of Bush being mediocre to awful, but he's finally being treated like a NFL Back should be treated. Now all he has to do is learn to play like a NFL back and he'll be good to go.
P.S. Sorry that Mario was brought into this post. It seems journalists have yet to figure out how to get over the draft. 11/11/2006 6:24:52 PM |

just got his 1st td from scrimmage on a reverse. course, they wouldnt have had the field position if not for a horrible roughing the qb call, but doesnt take away from his effort.
course this doesnt speak to his abilities as a RB since he came from the slot WR spot i think.
