http://www.motorauthority.com/news/sedans/mitsubishi-evo-x-brochure-leaked/

Mitsubishi Evo X brochure leaked

Quote :
"A brochure for the Japan-spec Mitsubishi Evolution X has leaked online revealing the final styling of the new car’s exterior and cabin as well as its power and torque figures. Though the text is in Japanese there are a few important clues that we can gather from the images. Expected to make its debut at October’s Tokyo Motor Show, the final production version of the Evo X will differ slightly from previous concepts as this brochure reveals.

The car sports similar side-mirrors to the basic Lancer and new side-vents behind the front wheel arches. The new Evo also drops the concept’s LED detailed headlights and front-bumper integrated foglights. Inside, we can see the new gear-lever and paddle-shifters for the dual-clutch gearbox.

The official power figure reads a metric 280ps at 6,500rpm, which is equivalent to 276hp (206kW). However, we suspect the final production version may actually develop more power than this official rating suggests. Max torque stands at 422Nm (311ft-lb), coming in at 3,500rpm."

its funny when you read that little bit you quoted. It says "although the brochure is in Japanese", makes it sound like the Japanese is some ancient language that no one can read

Get someone to translate and you won't have to go by the numbers writting on the brochure for all your clues....

I see they went with the STi style wing....i hope its not as flexible as the STi's. That shit was annoying on the highway.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/9070907.011/mitsubishi-concept-zt-to-debut-in-tokyo

Hopefully this will be the new Galant. Galant (and the Diamante) went to shit a long long time ago.

Concept comes with 2.2 litre Turbodiesel making 188 hp and 295 lb-ft.

^^ 255/40 Azenis, or something else?

how do you like them? I don't expect to beat (or really even match) the Advans, but maybe to get 95% of the performance for 50-60% of the cost (and hopefully a bigger footprint will at least match the Advans in ultimate grip).

oh, and baby's mom finally agreed to give back to me the extra child support money i've given her (or whatever is left of it, at least...don't know what that will be. should be at least a thousand or two...hopefully three or four. she also agreed to give me back what she can afford to every month out of what i give her...i have no idea what that will be, but even if it's only a couple hundred per month, that'll be really nice (and ultimately, it's not about the bottom line in dollars so much as it is about her willingness to treat me right...at least in giving things another go with her...

but in terms of affording to keep and now hopefully hot-rod my Evo, that bottom line definitely doesn't hurt! depending on how much I get back from her, I might order a Buschur stage 1 package. gotta replace my bald tires first, though.

^^yup (to the Azenis) Great great tire over all. They do get a bit greasy when hot and they are pretty good in wet too.

Thats great news about your baby's mom and the money thing. congrats.

how much of a step down are they from the Advans (other than getting greasy when hot)?

does going up 2 sizes seem to balance that out, or even produce a gain in performance over the stock tires?

do you think the OEM wheels are really wide enough to get the most out of a 255-series tire? i know people do it--i just wonder if it deforms the tire's profile.

Mitsubishi Evo X Official Pictures

http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2007/09/evo-x.html
http://www.worldcarfans.com/9070924.016/mitsubishi-evo-x-official-pictures

Quote :
"Ahead of the premiere of Mitsubishi's tenth-generation Lancer Evolution at the Tokyo Motor Show in October, Mitsubishi has released an interior shot of the U.S.-bound Lancer MR and a few exterior pictures the Lancer GSR that is destined for the Japanese market. The Lancer Evolution X is based on the Prototype-X concept showed at NAIAS in Detroit in January 2007.

Although Mitsubishi has been quiet about any official details on the Lancer Evolution models, an Evo X test drive in the November issue of the Car and Driver magazine reveals that both the GSR and MR are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 295 bhp and puts power to the wheels through Mitsubishi's new four-wheel drive system.

Perhaps most interestingly, the new Evo MR features, in place of the five-speed manual in the Lancer GSR, an all-new Twin Clutch SST dual-clutch sequential gearbox. Despite being slower from naught to 60 mph (5.0 seconds) than its predecessor, the Evo X should offer better grip and handling than the Evo IX."

First decent evo-X review (that i've seen). I think this is car and driver?
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3456712&postid=41967574#41967574

oh, and checkout the first drive article from Edmunds: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FirstDrives/articleId=122744

"Speed is one thing, but once we drove the Evo IX that Mitsubishi had on hand for driving comparisons, it was clear that the outgoing car is the livelier ride. The Evo X is quicker point to point by virtue of its chassis magic, while the outgoing Evo IX requires more from the driver to go fast. You can guess which one proved more rewarding to the guy behind the wheel. "

I have a feeling we'll be keeping our IXes for a while

c&d basically said they love the new car and wouldn't look back on IX, but admitted that car is less hardcore, steering is now less communicative and less sharp. new car is also, slower, heavier and bigger. basically they are diluting evo's fundamentals.

id say keep the IXs. im willing to bet they will very soon command high resale prices.

...and this is a surprise to no one.

ok, all of you VIII and IX owners: do your front tires wear way faster on the inside shoulder (i.e., lots of camber), or do I have an alignment problem?

also, my 255/40 Azenis came in today...thank God (i'll have to post pics of my trashed Advans...haha).

Evo X is more of a luxury step up then anything... definitely not something i'd consider for performance driving.

My tires do wear out in the front more so than the back but not on the inside...they're pretty even across the entire contact patch as far as wear goes.

duke, go get an alignment. set it to factory specs. maybe the owner before you put it for more sportier driving with more negative camber, but if you arent putting that camber to use, then it will just wear out the tire.

so yeah, when you get those tires installed. get an alighment, and make sure you can see what it was at.

yeah, just checked some evo forums...apparently it's a pretty common issue.

think i'm gonna tell them to set factory specs, except zero front toe (i'm sure it already has plenty of negative camber in the front).

search the evolutionm.net boards but i'm pretty sure our cars come with zero toe stock. For camber i want to say it's two degrees in the front and one degree in the back.

This will never happen, it doesn't even happen with exotics, it's sure as hell not going to happen with a modified lancer... I on the other hand, just might have to pick one up.

i don't really necessarily expect that scenario to unfold, but in the realm of exotics, the replacement is rarely less badass than the outgoing model

also, the IX was only made for one year, and while the out of the box improvements over the VIII are fairly incremental, it is a FAR, FAR more desireably car if you intend to modify it at ALL.

[Edited on September 25, 2007 at 9:11 PM. Reason : i've never heard of a car that responded to basic mods as well as a IX.]

Well I guess I could rephrase that IXs will be hit less by depreciation than they normally would ...prices will drop, just not as significantly.

oh how short our memories are. You know, the whole world made the same noises when the VII came out and it was SOOO much more "luxurious" than the VI. Now another all-new evo is out and its the same story all over again.

I'm sure this will be just fine, and anymore concerned about torque limits on the Evo's new dual-clutch can rest easy... HPA has been upgrading DSG trans for the Golf V and even retrofitting them to Golf IV's for a year or so now.

I haven't heard the official line yet, but I'd be surprised if this is so radically different from the Audi trans. If the Evo X sheds a lot of its image and the douchebaggery it has attached to it (thank you very much fast n furious and golovko), all the better. I really like the profile and rear shot... kinda remind me of an IS350 more than anything else, which is NOT a bad thing. Front needs work, but I'm sure that'll change with successive MR, RS, XI, XII models, etc.

Why would anyone want the Evo to shed its image? Its a rally car, what image do you want it to bring to the table? Luxury family sedan or something? man you're dumb.

And I have yet to meet any Evo owner thats a douche bag.

Soundboy4: negative
theduke: negative
golovko: negative

the guys we met at the evo meet at the tail of the dragon? nope....

so not sure where you get this douche bag BS...i think you are confusing it with ricers in civics.

Depreciation is dependent on market value.

Not mileage.

FYI.

^wha? Of course mielage has an effect on the car's depreciation. Initially market value drives the resale price down as soon as you drive the car off the lot. But car mielage, and maybe more importantly miles/year will definitely affect your individual car's depreciation rate and resale value. And hopefully owners that put a lot of miles on their cars know to keep meticulous maintenance records to help soften the blow.

So Engin and Mark, you guys want to go to that Evo meet next sunday at the Ale House or what?
