i can jump start my scooter with my car can't i? it's been sitting all winter and i forgot to unhook the battery, so it's dead (stupid alarm). both batteries are 12.8V, it just seems weird to jump start such a small battery with a big ass car.

yeah, it's fine...though i would suggest doing it with the car off, not on (i realize you've already done it, but this is for future reference for others)...if the car's not on, then the battery is just an energy source which the scooter will pull from...if the car IS on, then the car's charging system will likely push through the scooter's, as well

yeah, i didn't start it up. i tried it with the car off and it worked fine, so there was no need to start it up. good tip though. we don't want anyone messing anything up.

If i could pickup an 08 ruckus with 900 miles for a grand should I do it?

I know I don't need it....but it is pretty damn funny. I've had a life long obsession with the movie dumb and dumber which isn't helping......

mine has a kick start and electric start too, but something is loose in the kick start so it rarely works.

i think my battery is shot anyway. i bought it in october and then put the bike up for several months without disconnecting it. i think the alarm drained it so low ( ) that it's f-ed. i left it at the scooter store saturday to charge, but i don't know what's going on with it. i'm going to be pissed if i have to buy another battery.

[NO] scooters are scooters, bikes are bikes

Big ruckus is like a child with a Down syndrome in an otherwise healthy family. It looks like it should have been a bike, but never quite made it..

i never posted up pics of my scoot after i got it painted, so i guess i'll whore it out now.

i got my friend Los to paint it. after much thought, we decided on a "space-ish" theme. we did a blend from a turquoise to black with white splatters and metallic red on top of the black/white. shit looks pretty cool, imo. i painted the wheels black and repainted most of the trim/brackets/mudflaps black as well. i had to do some epoxying and sanding to repair a bunch of cracks in the panels and my sister redid the seat to match (it was blue and gray). i didn't do the mirror because i plan on getting a new set of black or white ones. there are a couple more pictures in my gallery too if anyone is bored.

i took apart the clutch on the met, thinking that with the re-bore and all, that's what's keeping it from realizing it's full 60cc potential...of course now that it's back together, it won't turn over at all (though it tries)

thinking, maybe, that between the re-bore, the new belt, the new clutch springs, and the new pulley spring, everything is too big/stiff (haha) for the battery to be able to turn it over completely...i need to try the kickstart (which, in more than a year of ownership, i've never used), but when i was putting it back together, the bolt holding the kick sheared off (i already picked up replacement bolts, i just haven't put them on)

we'll see...i'm dreading taking the clutch apart again since the bastard uses one of those terrifying g-rings (when you pop it out, the whole assembly just explodes and it's a BITCH to put back together, at least with what i have available to me)...the whole assembly is pretty simple, though

i don't know if that would fix the problem...guy on another forum said that if i take the clutch assembly off, i SHOULD be able to pull the two pulley halves apart (which allows the belt to slide lower)...i can't do that (or i'm extremely weak sauce and can't muster the strength to do it), so i'm thinking it might be put together wrong (i probably should have marked the clutch assembly before taking it apart so i could line up the marks afterward...but team powersports are the ones that took it apart and put it back together since i was down there to pick up the components anyway, and i didn't think about it)

what is proper break in for a 2-stroke? i've been running a lil extra 2 stroke oil in the mix... and not going full throttle, but modulating smoothly.
