Caffeine is a stimulant, but it won't necessarily keep you awake, especially if you haven't had enough sleep or if you have fatigue caused by an illness or medication.

^^ you should stay awake til late afternoon/early evening (like 5pm or so) and then sleep til like 7am. I find it's the easiest way to correct an inverted schedule.
