i really really really feel like ward needs work on shootouts. other than that, i'm not all that disappointed with this 1 point loss. as was said earlier, we doubled last year's shootout goals and hamilton's was a damn pretty goal

yeah, he's got a really shitty history of shootouts. Especially versus Pittsburgh.

Just terrible.

He does have a shitty record in the shootout, and he is now 1-1 against Pittsburgh, iirc with a 50 % save pct. in the shootout. I have never really felt that comfortable with cam in the shootout round, definitely something that has needed improvement

yeah

its fucking Pittsburgh

I don't know if you know this, but they can score.

How Cam performs in the shootout really doesn't concern me. It'd be nice to take those, but he got us to the shootout, we got a point, and frankly I'm amazed we didn't lose the game at the end of the 3rd last night.

Still without a regulation loss.

Pardon me, I thought since we were discussing Cam ward I didn't have to specify.

[Cam Ward] still without a regulation loss.

3-1-2....the first loss was at Washington I believe

Pretty successful road trip if you ask me. Would have been nice to have won those last two but we ran into some great goalies on their best days and unfortunate injuries to Walker and Cole.

"X-rays on Cole's foot were inconclusive Saturday night and the team was awaiting the results of an MRI exam Sunday afternoon. At the least, he's expected to miss anywhere from two weeks to a month.

Ladd is still at least a week away from playing and Walker is out indefinitely -- and in considerable pain -- with what the team believes to be torn cartilage in his chest."

the fact that cole injured his foot by kicking a cinderblock while playing a soccer/hackey sack game angers me.

It's times like this where I wish we had some sort of checker or enforcer in Albany that we could call up, seeing as how all three of our forwards that have a physical edge to their game are injured.

Hasn't even dressed for the River Rats this year, so either something is wrong, or he is not at an acceptable playing level (and certainly not for the NHL) right now.

Oh, and for tonight:

From Luke's blog from yesterday:

Quote :
"An MRI on Erik Cole's injured foot Sunday indicated a sprain but no break, and the Canes now expect him back on the ice in 7-10 days."

whew

so far our players have missed games because of driving into light pole and kicking a cinder block wall.

My Band played a big party at Cam Ward's house recently....I got to meet alot of the guys on the team, and they all seem like good guys....but I still say Hockey = Yawn for me. Give me baseball any day !!

I have to say that's the first time I've seen someone make reference to hockey as boring and then say they like baseball.

What did Ladd do to be deserving of riding with Gove?

I've got a game at 9, so I just decided to stay at work until then...sucks that I'm missing Luongo.

puck_it just called to tell me that Kay Yow dropped the puck for the ceremonial faceoff since it's Hockey Fights Cancer night.

interesting article about Jack Johnson. It says it might be one of the worst deals we made.

Well it's gonna be real hard to top this:

3/4/91, Hartford trades Ron Francis, Ulf Samuelsson, and Grant Jennings to Pittsburgh for John Cullen, Jeff Parker, and Zarley Zalapski.
