Sounds to me like you're a douchebag fatass borderline-illiterate redneck, but that would be an injustice to self-respecting rednecks who at least would have showed up for the slaughter after setting themselves up for a race with BigBlueRam.

I might treat the world like it's mine, but that's significantly preferable to being an along-for-the-ride dipshit with nothing better to do than concern himself with what some stranger sets his cruise control at.

^^^^^^Well, I'm the one playing, and I'm the one paying, and as such, feel uniquely qualified to make the judgment of what constitutes being "an idiot."

...but I do not have all night, as I have a $60,000,000 attack jet to fly first thing in the morning, and need to get some sleep.

^^^^^ normally it would get you some unwanted attention and might even have some consequences, but the "major consequences" are due to not getting to finish that qualification, not directly due to speeding. In general, I'd say that's a very unusually severe consequence to getting a few tickets. It just happened with me at a time and place when the powers that be regarding that decision were extremely conservative, and in a position to be picky about trivial things, due to a glut of qualifications in our squadron. In other squadrons, there are plenty of people who have done things orders of magnitude more irresponsible, with less professional impact.

In my case, though, it's more just that it pisses me off on principle. I'm getting out, anyway.

And then when people call you on it, you say "I fly jets", which actually just makes it worse.

The same way this kid I had ACQ 201b with did it when he got his revoked for doing 74 in a 35, rode his ass to one of the van pool pickup spots and caught a ride in to work that way. Though I'm assuming the civilians have more regular schedules than you guys do.

I will agree with Duke about how it's some bullshit how personal life will have an effect on your professional life in the military, which doesn't happen much in the non-military world.

^^^ i don't see why it's such a stretch to say that if you can't follow the rules your trustworthiness should be questioned. obviously duke doesn't follow the speed limit sign because he thinks it's stupid and he is fine paying the cost, but then it follows that if he decides he can break that rule because he can, what's to stop him from deciding to ignore other, more serious rules? just playing devil's advocate, but i can follow the thought process behind work consequences for stuff you do on your own time.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with the reasoning--just when it's not tempered with common sense (and in this particular case, when it isn't applied even remotely uniformly). I think that if you act like a dipshit away from work as a military officer, it is justifiable for that to carry professional consequences. However, as with most things in the military, common sense is not a common virtue.

I gotta get Duke's back on this one...there really seems to be a lot of rabid uninformed hate in here, and quite a bit from an utter hypocrite or two. Duke's pretty level headed, and sure as hell doesn't hoss it around when Hannah's with him.

Get over yourselves already. Damn haters be hatin' and shit. Always will, I guess.

If you think this is a lot of rabid, uninformed hate, then you must not be on TWW a lot. It's like four people, and it's not totally uninformed.

TWW has attempted to crush people. There have been pages and pages and pages of everybody and their mother coming out to let somebody know that they are fat/ugly/stupid...typically somebody who hasn't done anything wrong.

But a couple of us criticize theDuke866, and you feel the need to get his back?

If this was a thread about a fat girl or a sickly thin girl or a fat, ugly girl or an ugly girl or a girl who had nude photos posted, I doubt you'd be her "getting her back."

Oh, and good call on pointing out that he doesn't "hoss it around" when his kid's with him. Because parents should never drive dangerously with their children. Why? Cause they might get in accident and hurt their child. Or hurt themselves...which is why parents shouldn't drive dangerously at all. Oh, he killed himself on the highway, and his child is fatherless...but at least he didn't do it with his kid in the car. Yeah props to him for that! I'm not saying that theDuke866 drives dangerously (I doubt he does), but I am saying you're stupid for ever giving a parent credit for not speeding with their child in the car...

Yep, I stand by what I say...uninformed. Until you REALLY know what's going on, you don't. Plain and simple. What you're visualizing is very subjective...hey, but you wanna flame, have at it. He's a big boy; he can take it.

Will, shut your goddamn mouth. You of all people...

And the rest of you: how many of you exceed the speed limit on a regular basis, text while driving, talk on your phone, apply lip gloss, or eat your Big Mac...while you are driving...in cars far less capable of stopping on a dime or far more likely to lose traction in an unanticipated turn?

Many people probably don't realize it in this thread, but Ragged is certainly more than qualified to dole out comments on bad driving...after all, he did get drunk and crash his car into a tree. So...take it from the expert, if he says bad driving is bad...it is bad!

Why don't you just cut to the chase and link to the thread where you were ridiculed for one/many of the above reasons and nobody had your back.

I was thinking about when it's happened to other people.

I'm not going to name people specifically because some of them have become beloved members of TWW, and I don't think people want to be reminded of the time they mindlessly bashed those people because of a picture.

Grow up.

If, in your adrenaline junkie state, you need to feel an adrenaline rush, get your jollies off doing something that doesn't endanger the lives of those around you.

You don't actually save that much time by driving fast and you just look like an idiot collecting this many tickets in a short amount of time.

Driving ridiculously fast isn't just about putting yourself in danger, it's everyone else on the road as well. You maru be a good driver even at 90 mph but if grandma pulls out in front of you, your stopping time at 90 is not the same as 65.

It reminds me of this ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS5f73EHRhA

^^He might have driven a little wrecklessly from time to time in college, but that isn't the case now... most people our age who are into fast cars do it right and take it to the track (I know for a fact Duke and TKE-Teg both do this). The tickets they are getting are honest mistakes, and things a lot of us do (granted the first ticket he mentioned in this thread was 15 over, but I have definitely done 70 in a 55, as has pretty much all the rest of traffic). Yeah, someone driving like a dipshit is endangering people, but his last ticket was for registration and window tint...

come on people...
