Usually play mario kart with either a 360 or ps3 style controller. The original joystick just isn't sensitive enough.

I've found that, since it's less sensitive, it's easier to powerslide (for me anyway)

^^That depends. It might be easier to start power sliding. But it's easy to get the speed boosts and steer with a more sensitive joystick.
