Police have arrested a man in the killing of Auburn University freshman Lauren Burk, who died this week, according to the Auburn, Alabama, assistant police chief

Lauren Burk, a freshman at Auburn University in Alabama, was found fatally shot Tuesday along a highway.

Courtney Larrell Lockhart, 23, of Smiths, Alabama, is charged with capital murder during a kidnapping, capital murder during a robbery, and capital murder during an attempted rape, Tommy Dawson said Saturday.

So he killed her and drove her car to the ATM. Even if he got her PIN he wouldn't be able to withdraw more than $500, and thats only if she had that much. As a college student I wouldn't see that being very likely.

In regards to the gun....

Would it really stop these people if guns were legal or not? It doesn't seem to stop people with drugs....
The answer is. Legal or not people are going to commit violent crimes with guns. Personally, I'd rather not vote away my choice to own my own handgun. I might decide that I want one someday-- to protect myself in cases like these.
