Alls i know is that Im a cop and i dont know nothing about this case. its not my department and i dont know anymore than the public on this one. if i did know i sure as hell wouldnt say something on here. my only theory was the gang thing, and that was speculation on my part and it had already been released to the public that they were investigating gang ties anyways. in closing, i aint said nothing, and i dont know nothing

^even most chapel hill cops probably know relatively little. Most of the information is likely routed through to a small investigative team who uses sophisticated, systematic methods, are an organization separate from the police, and are obligated to stay very quiet. The police chief acts as a general spokesman to the public (as an icon of justice) and probably hears about the major results coming from the investigative team, and acts as the liaison to the police force. The cops are kept in the dark except when running little investigative errands--their minds should be focused on regular duty anyway.

So, almost no one knows anything save for a few sharp investigators who are pouring over loads of data, pin-board maps and timelines. This keeps things pretty tidy.

Is this about how things go in your experience?

With the two suspects...

Really just looks like one of them did the shooting and they both stole her car afterwards. The one guy at the ATM got caught on camera and you can kind of see another shadow in the back. After that they go drive to a convenience store to try to use the card to get something, the other guy goes in and he gets caught on camera.

Gang ties are interesting, but they might just be really lousy murderers. Either way I'd guess one gets to go away as an accessory to murder and the other gets life for murder without parole. Maybe...

I dunno, seems a little disgusting to go and shoot somebody in the face a bunch of times when you just want their money.

So if that is in fact a dude in the back seat, I have a question... why would he be in the back seat by himself? Generally if two people are in a car, [obviously] the passenger will be riding up front in the passenger seat, not in the back by himself. Perhaps the second guy was restraining her?

A girl that was a year ahead of me in high school and neighbor to my friend is currently spending time in jail for 1st degree murder. Her and her group of white trash friends apparently killed somebody then were caught b.c they were seen on camera using the victim's ATM card.
