yeah, I am just a pretty bitter person in general I guess. Going to Canada made me want another Canada Cup, those people deserve one. I think the feeling was that the whole country would be behind whatever team Canada could put in the finals. Personally, I would like to see a Flames/Habs finals, I would watch every second of that.

I'd nut myself if the Rangers played the Flyers in the playoffs too (that would have to come in the conf finals though)... The only better thing would be the isles, devils and then the flyers to win the eastern.

Pretty much everyone in hockey hates Sean Avery unless he plays for you... as for me, I love him...

Hey, I'll be the first to admit as a Devils fan I am just glad they managed to avoid an all out sweep given their paltry record against the Rags in the regular season. Marty didn't play consistently and the Devils could use some serious help on defense. I am not going to make any excuses for them. They built a team based around defensive hockey yet lacked the strong presence to back it up. To find proof of this just look at their GA/GF in the regular season. 206 GF and 197 GA, both of which were the lowest of any team in the east that made the playoffs. It should also be noted that the Rangers had a GA of only 199 so this series was truly a battle of the goalies and Marty lost.

So the Devils need to take this time to either shore up their defense or learn how to score more goals unless they want to hemorrhage even more of their talent (damn you Scott Gomez, Scott Neidermayer, Petr Sykora ) and fall into the NHL doldrums along side the LA Kings and Edmonton Oilers.

As for the Marty handshake thing I don't really care either way. Maybe Sean Avery said something that was completely beyond redemption or he was just caught up in the moment of having lost yet another playoff series. Who knows.
