aha! the line tool instead of the freehand brush ... excellent strategy I will have to try it! oh, and what I meant way back by "few lines" is that your drawings don't have shading or anything but they still look all 3D, it's cool!!

i can't believe you just drew that in paint. i figured you had it layered (like in autoCAD), then just "traced" the original picture, then turned off the layer with the photo and took a screenshot...

but you did it the hard way!

^^nah, the only one i didnt freehand was the one of EMCE. in his case, i copied the photo into MSPaint, drew lines over what i would have normally drawn the lines for, then spent a lot of time erasing the original picture out. but of course, i admitted to "cheating" on that one.

if you suspect anyone of cheating, all you gotsta do is copy both images into paint in separate windows, overlay the two, and see if too much matches.

i wish there was a way to see others' methods and how their drawings progress.

I draw a few dots as guides, then spend a lot of time zoomed in so I can draw less clumsily. When I zoom out it usually turns out that the face/hand/whatever I just drew is HUGE. So I highlight it with the box tool and shrink it down. Repeat till the picture is done! I was so happy when I figured out the hotkey to zoom in and out. ( Ctrl-PageDown and Ctrl-PageUp)
