Pretty fucked up that you are posting everything this poor guy has ever said to you, etc. further humiliating him. The dude tried something on you and he failed. its not any different than anyone else coming on too hard, just a different format I guess (it is pretty funny though).

But yeah, I think its pretty shitty that you are posting all this stuff that I'm sure he was thinking would be private between you too. I can understand the email, but all the conversations? pretty shitty.

oh dear, this reminds me of some of the match.com crazies i ran into... i kept a blog about it, i'll post the stories for anyone who wants to be entertained and learn what NOT to do

Quote :
"Every now and then Armand the Hero tries to chat with me on facebook. Usually it's normal small talk but today it took a turn for the wtf....

5:11pm Armand
what's up you sexy thing!

5:12pm That Girl
yo

5:12pm Armand
yo ho! what's up
joking of course
not really a ho

then again there's nothing more I'd rather do than to have you

5:14pm That Girl
what?

5:14pm Armand
oh did I say that out loud???
sorry internal thoughts..........ha ha

5:15pm Armand
what's going on!
you won't banter with me?

And thats when I signed out of facebook as soon as I could copy and past the little exchange into the blog. What is wrong with people???"

"Oh Aaron the Psycho, you went wrong so soon. Aaron and I ended up talking on the phone, AIM and text while I was recovering from being sick for a week. The plan was to meet that week then I ended up being sick so we talked for awhile before we actually met. I should have known something was up when he'd text me during the day and continue to text me even if I didn't respond. He called me nearly everyday after he got out of work and I didn't think much of it, attention is always nice right? Right, except when it's crazy attention. Anyway, so I finally start feeling better and we decide to go kayaking on a Sunday. So we meet up and go kayaking and actually had a pretty good time. We had gorgeous weather, good conversation and it was an all around great date. So we are saying good bye and we agree to go out again.

This is where things get crazy. He knows I am going out of town that week for work and wants to go out before I leave on Thursday. I tell him I can't, it'll have to be after I get back. He seems ok with that. Then on Tuesday (2 days after our kayaking adventure) he texts and asks me if I want to spend 4th of July with him (which was 2 weeks away when this all went down) I responded that I was waiting to make plans. His response was "so does that mean you only see me as a friend?" Lets pause here and go back to before we met. During our talks he was playing the friend card hardcore. Telling me how important it was to be friends with someone first and on and on and on. I told him I don't date friends because if an attraction exists, it doesn't make it to the friend stage with me. So I text back and remind him that he was playing the friend card pretty hard before we even met. I am in training during this so after he writes back, I tell him we'll talk about this later, I am busy.

So I am out running errands after work and I get a text from him asking me to call when I'm free, or he can call me around 8pm. Around 6pm I text back and say that I'm out running errands. At 8pm he calls me and I do not answer as I am still out doing my thing. I don't report to this dude, I am not going to make myself be anywhere at any certain time to talk to someone I don't even know. So he texts me shortly after that asking me if I am home. I respond "look, this isn't going to work. i can't take someone breathing down my neck like this" He responds that hes sorry and asks me to give him another chance. This is when I start to ignore him. The next day I have a message on facebook from him. Here is what he said...

I totally would feel like you if the situation were reversed and 100% respect your reaction. I probably would have been not been as nice as you. I'm really sorry for being pushy. It only shows me that I haven't fully recovered from the mess that went down in Jan. It's a long story.......And excuses are like assholes everyone has one. Put short just started getting used to talking so much and had a great time, that I let myself begin to fall into the same trap. I mean for the love of God I want you to have a life and me or whoever just to be apart of it. It hadn't even been a few days. I didn't make my intentions clear and started to expect things and that is disaster, as I know. I just want to apologize to you. Maybe you can look past it, maybe you can't and thats cool too. But yea I do see you as a great gal who I could have a lot of fun. Again I'm real sorry.........

CRA-ZAY. So I ignore that too. Then I get a series of messages from him on IM. I'm also getting texts. I am not responding to anything. One of the texts said something like "you're not the first to say i come on strong but those that have stayed haven't left" So I continue to ignore him and he continues to try to talk to me. He even asked me why I couldn't be friends with someone who is pushy. Are you kidding me?!?! So I blocked him on facebook and IM (clearly) and I think that's the end of it. At least I hope so. Let's just say I make sure all my blinds are closed at night and I turn the alarm on... He doesn't know where I live, but still!"

Quote :
"Tonight I went out with Charles the Pretentious Contradiction and I couldn't wait to write about him. I was already coming up with his nickname before our food arrived. Let me back up a little. Charles the Pretentious Contradiction asked me to dinner and a movie. We settled on Carrabbas and Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D. First, he's late for dinner and not just a couple minutes "I hit a few lights" late.... 15min late. When I arrived I put my name in and got a buzzer and texted him (at 7:32) that I was there and put my name on the list. He arrives at 7:45 and we are seated shortly after. Right away this dude is awkward. Not sure what it is right away but we all know it's going to come out.

I'm not impressed that he's late and after he orders my meal for me (yes, you read that right) the topic of punctuality comes up and he has the audacity to say that he's only on time for people who are really important to him and until people establish a sense of importance with him, he sort of takes his time. I wish I was making this up. Here I am, sitting at dinner (which hasn't arrived yet) and I've already committed to a movie (which thank god, we don't have to talk during). Moving on... he explains that it took him 8 years to finish college which reminded me of our phone conversation the night before. He said that he took a break from college after 9/11 so he could be with his family. No, he didn't know anyone involved in 9/11... he just said that he left college to be with his family for a few years then went back to school. There is sketch written all over that.

Anyway, I resolve to make the most of the situation and try to make it through dinner. There were so many things he said that I wanted to remember, I was almost tempted to go to the bathroom and take notes so I didn't forget anything. I forgot a lot (which is probably good) and dinner was finally over."
-- there is more to the date but nothing crazy like the dinner conversation

god i have so many stories of dudes acting totally retardo on dates

well that just sucks for him, doesnt it? its not like i had any emotional/relationship ties to this guy, nor much respect for him after all this went down. its not like he was a boyfriend that i was betraying by posting all this online. he was a guy i went out with once that went wayyyyy overboard.
i wouldnt have posted the gmail chat or email convos had they not been so crazy and pushy and snide. if he'd just let it go that i didnt want to see him again, it would have just been the program (cause i mean COME ON! i HAD to share that, its too ridiculous not to). but the motherfucker pissed me off with all his little snide comments about me and the fact that i had to tell him that i never wanted to see him again MULTIPLE times.

^^i met my boyfriend for a date less than a week after the one i've posted about, and we will have been together 9 months tomorrow. also met him through match.

the biggest thing i learned was that if you think you've seen a red flag, it your convos pre-date, you probably have.

roberta, if you're curious ab online dating, give it a shot!

it takes a lot of time, at least it did for me. and you'll meet normal guys you're not into and you'll meet some weirdos that give you great stories to tell everyone else and if you're lucky you'll find someone you can actually date for real!

online dating is just like real life once you meet the person. its just another medium of expressing interest in someone.
