http://www.freep.com/article/20090215/SPORTS06/90216001/1054/SPORTS06/Reports++U-M+QB+Steven+Threet+will+transfer
Quote : | "Quarterback Steven Threet will transfer from the University of Michigan, according to multiple reports.
The Adrian native, who started eight games at quarterback last season for the Wolverines, is unsure where he will play next season.
"I have decided to transfer from the University of Michigan," Threet wrote in an email to the Michigan Daily. "I have requested and received my release. I do not yet know where I will continue my collegiate career, and have no further comment until that decision is made."
Threet transferred from Georgia Tech prior to the 2007 season. He sat out the following year due to NCAA transfer rules before taking the majority of snaps for the Wolverines as redshirt freshman last season.
If he transfers to another FBS school, Threet will have to sit out the 2009 season.
The Wolverines have two four-star quarterbacks joining their roster as part of their 2009 recruiting class. Tate Forcier is already enrolled along with six other early enrollee recruits, and fellow QB Denard Robinson will join the team after graduating from high school this spring.
Walk-on Nick Sheridan, who started four games for the Wolverines in 2008, remains on the roster.

Quote : | "Maker's Mark Mocks Michigan Football
Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan football team had a tough year. They didn't go bowling, they had their first losing season in like 40 years, the starting quarterback is transferring and, well, you get the point: not a fun year to be a Wolverine fan.
Of course, Ohio State and the kind folks in Columbus are always there to rub a little salt in the wound. And they teamed up with Maker's Mark whiskey to do so, posting a hilarious monstrosity of a billboard on a downtown building.
And it reads:
Here's to football season.
Especially Michigan's.
Um, so, yeah, that's funny as all get out. The only thing, though, that I wonder about is: did Maker's Mark consider exactly how many Michigan fans drink their brand of whiskey? Because, as hysterical as the ad is, it is most certainly alienating a group of large group of fans who probably like to drink whiskey.
On the bright side, they're locking themselves into bourbon of choice for the Buckeye market." |

I think UM goes bowling this season, but it's still hard to think they'll do much better than 7-5 if that's even possible.
September 5 Western Michigan - W September 12 Notre Dame - W September 19 Eastern Michigan - W September 26 Indiana - W October 3 at Michigan State - L October 10 at Iowa - L October 17 Delaware State - W October 24 Penn State - L October 31 at Illinois - L November 7 Purdue - W November 14 at Wisconsin - L November 21 Ohio State - L

Shit, Delaware St is the last game added to the schedule? I'd rather take a crappy D1A, but I guess there may not have been many teams left. Maybe Western Kentucky or Arkansas St or something? Someone worse than Toledo
My Guess: (7-5) September 5 Western Michigan - W September 12 Notre Dame - L September 19 Eastern Michigan - W September 26 Indiana - W October 3 at Michigan State - W/L October 10 at Iowa - L October 17 Delaware State - W October 24 Penn State - L October 31 at Illinois - W November 7 Purdue - W November 14 at Wisconsin - L November 21 Ohio State - W/L
I think UM will either win the MSU or OSU game, but not both. Of course, I predicted a record similar to this last year.... heh, we'll see what happens!

September 5 Western Michigan - W September 12 Notre Dame - W September 19 Eastern Michigan - W September 26 Indiana - W (SO MUCH HYPE AFTER THIS GAME LEADS INTO THE MSU LOSS) October 3 at Michigan State - L October 10 at Iowa - L October 17 Delaware State - W October 24 Penn State - L October 31 at Illinois - L November 7 Purdue - W November 14 at Wisconsin - W November 21 Ohio State - W
8-4 I am too much of a homer. I shouldn't be predicting. This won't happen. 3/15/2009 12:21:07 PM |

Quote : | "Paulus possibly headed to Michigan to play QB for the Wolverines
The Greg Paulus saga continues...
Tuesday, officials from Duke University confirmed that the former Blue Devil point guard worked out for the Green Bay Packers in Durham.
However, Paulus' college career might not even be over just yet.
WRAL has confirmed, according to sources close to the Michigan football program, that Paulus was in Ann Arbor Tuesday to talk with Wolverines head football coach Rich Rodriguez about the possibility of suiting up for his team in 2009.
The source said that no decision was made about Paulus' possible enrollment, or the role that he would play in his only year on the field.
Even after playing four years of basketball in Durham, Paulus would have one year of eligibility left if he chose to play football.
According to NCAA rules, the former star high school quarterback wouldn't have to sit out a year because he would be playing a different sport than basketball." |
