well, at first i thought it was a woman, and thought maybe Tara's mom. but then i realized that Lafeyette got ambushed behind the restaurant earlier, so chances are it was him - so i guess when Bill told Sookie that he'd fed, he wasn't referring to Lafeyette? or was he?

The only reason I'm almost certain is because I remember the scene a few episodes back of him painting his nails.

I found it kinda disturbing.

I like Lafayette a lot too. I dont know why they are killing off interesting side characters like him and Renee. Not a good thing.

It too annoys me that they killed LaFayette. So I'm pretty sure that it wasn't Bill that fed on him. By the way that Lafayette freaked out and jumped on the dumpster it makes me think that it was one of the monsters that Sam was talking about.

Jason is REALLY starting to piss me off. He reminds me of someone from high school that would jump from fad to fad weekly.

but bill was all fucked up looking, when sookie asked him how he healed, he said he had fed, so until he fed he prolly still looked all burned up

i just want to know whats up with shakey, hog lady, it seems like her and sam stole some money, and he ran off from her, but i wanna know what kinda creature she is

^^^^^one (possibly idiotic) theory i had is that the black guy was some sort of apparition/illusion that the lady was creating and that is why she was shaking like that.

also, i still think she is the devil in some form.

^Was the black guy even looking at her???

And yeah...I definitely think she's some form of Satan. Although the fact that Sam is so familiar with her makes me think she's a little less than the devil.

Guess we'll have to wait until summer.

My first impression was that she was a shape-shifter like Sam. I thought that she was trying to 'master' a new form by looking at the hog, hence the strange vibrations/shaking. Seemed to be confirmed later in the episode when the two talked, but I do go along with the whole evil/Satan idea.

Good finale for an interesting series. I mean really - you have to watch any TV series out there with vampires and bewbs, right?

^I'm guessing she's a shape shifter too, which would explain why she was naked in the road. Shakyness was definitely weird, made me wonder if somehow she was projecting that dude... "Eggs." Also, my guess is the red headed new vampire is who killed Lafayette (even tho i'm really hoping he's still around next season somehow.)

Yeah I think they really hinted at this woman being the devil. After one of her scenes it goes to Rene getting in Jason's truck and he's singing a song with the lyrics "devil in disguise". So I thought that might have been hinting at her or even at himself but it was more obvious at this point he was evil so I figured it was about her.

And yeah I figured she was projecting Eggs too (Pig with her = Bacon, Bacon and Eggs, haha) by the way she was shaking and such and not changing.

Jason joining the cult at the end and "finding religion" was annoying. I tried to like Jason because I found him somewhat funny, but now he's just annoying and very sheepish.

But I think the vampire sheriff even said something about Lafayette when he brought the girl back to him. I think she fed on him, but I wasn't sure since Bill said he had fed too.

Oh and Sam and the money, wtf? Haha. I'm guessing he made a deal with that woman in the past.

I dont think Sam would let Tara stay with that women if he felt she were pure evil. he cares too much about her. He didnt seem to be overly concerned when Tara left in the car with her. He could have been covering, or too scared, but didnt seem so.

Definitely an excellent ending to a show that got better as it went on.

I didnt hear Eric say anything about Lafayette? But Bill did, I imagine he had to after getting the ultimate sunburn. I wonder though, what happened to Lafayette, seems to valuable a character to write out of the series, even though the scene where he was attacked at the dumpster screams "bad last minute write-off". So the question is, did Bill drain him dead and then bury him in the graveyard?

I really don't think Bill killed Lafayette... he knows that Lafayette is good friends with Sookie and even if he did kill him, I'm pretty sure he would mention something to her.

I don't think Lafayette's dead. That'd be too many characters they're eliminating. Also seems extremely doubtful that Bill would have fed on her.

I hope Lafayette's not dead, love his character!

id have to say there is something to read into the transition from that woman to Rene in the truck singing 'she's a devil in disguise'

dont know about the bacon and eggs reference, haha clever suggestion though

that si what i was trying to say a few posts up from this one

also, the evil/devil way is obviously something they want you to think b/c tara and her keep on talking about being able to have whatever you want.

as for sam, who is to say he knows her full deal. he obviously knew her but that doesnt mean he solved her.

Has anyone else read the books? Cause I would really love to discuss how the plot may be developing because of how they're adapting from the books. I was thinking about making a thread but it'd be pointless if noone else has read the books.

in other words he doesnt know everything about her

if someone is mysterious like a puzzle, you solve them by getting to know all their details/secrets. sorry, thought that was a more common expression

I'm guessing that the woman is the devil and Sam in some way made a deal with her in the past and now that she's coming to collect on her end of the bargain Sam's now trying to get out of the deal by returning all of that money that he grabbed from the safe

The painting hanging above Tara when she woke up (that they deliberately panned down from) was a painting of Eve and then there was the continual presence of tempting fruit (literally a huge fruit buffet including a huge basket of apples right in the middle of the buffet table in one scene) all around the woman's mansion

Woman = Devil
Tara = Eve
Huge Mansion and Grounds = Garden of Eden
All of the things the woman is tempting Tara with, epitomized by the big fruit/apple buffet = Forbidden Fruit

Not the mention the fact that Tara actually says that it seems too good to be true and that he momma used to say it was the "devil in a pink hat" or something like that.

That was the most obvious clue. Look, its not exactly subtle that they want you to at least think she is the devil..

I definitely do not think they would have killed off LaFayette who is imo one of the most interesting characters by far. Also, if it was a vampire I do not think he would have jumped up onto the dumpster. I was thinking it was more likely the woman as a pig or whatever she turns in to that just scared him and made him jump. I am calling that the woman in the car is Tara's mother which would be why she reacted a lot more than anyone else, and she has been bitching about her mom to the lady that Sam is scared or(implying she is probably one of the evil characters) as opposed to Sam who is the good shape shifter.

^ im feeling the same thing.

When HBO announced the renewal for another season they also mentioned that we would meet three additional characters at the end of the season (the social worker, the preacher, and Bill's redhead) who would be a big part of the second season.

I really liked that Rene had a "Cajun Accent for Actors" tape.

This is by far my favorite TV show in a while. Not since the first season of Heroes have I been so excited to see the next episode. Every single character is fleshed out and they are all interesting but still mysterious enough to not be completely flat.
With that...

The devil lady might be a shapeshifter as well I think. She keeps the pig around just like Sam keeps a dog around. And the scene where Tara crashed her car, she was naked and covered in mud. Maybe her hobby is rolling around in mud. And didn't Sam shake like her as well when he shapeshifted? or was that my imagination? Sam didn't seem overly scared to see her, maybe it's his real mother or something????

The cinematography in this show is great, and especially in this last episode. I love when Jason and Amy were running around in their dreams in the big field. And this last episode how the camera focused from Sookie to Rene when she said in the cell she knows who the real killer is.

And the "You don't have an accent in your thoughts" part was genius!

i <3 this show.
might be a day 1 DVD purchase.

I'm sure that a lot of people are thinking that it as Lafayette in the car too, and all know how much tv shows like to throw curveballs. The only other main black character in the show is Tara's mum though, so I guess it has to be one or the other.

either/or I think, I bet you money the writers haven't decided yet. They did it on purpose to build flexibility in the story line. Many shows do this type of writing to give them some possibilities and paths to build the stories the way they want to.

So at this point, I'd safe to say it is Tara's mom because Lafayette is a way more interesting character.

i dont really think its Lafayette, more likely that its Tara's mom, Lafayette had already been missing for 2 weeks, thats a long time to hold on to a body, i think he just got scarred by whatever he saw out by the dumpster and ran off for awhile

And don't forget that they played up the threats that Lafayette made to the politician. Could be the politician had Lafayette killed, attacked, kidnapped, run out of town, etc. Maybe the anti-gay politician has vamps or other creatures at his disposal, then we'd say... 'what a twist!'

Agreed

Also, the woman is NOT the devil. She is some maenad thing that is simply hedonistic. I too think she was projecting the black guy there.
