I kinda wished I got the BFBC2 pack just for Vietnam, but didn't feel like paying for the game again since I have it through EA not steam. I also should have went for the Total War Napoleon expansion, but also didn't want to pay for the base game a 2nd time.

I only wished steam was more user friendly with game licenses. I hate the idea of double paying for a game just to get expansions to games that I already have. Why can't they open it up to non-valve games for their system? I would have easily spent more money if I got extra copies to games I already have and not needlessly waste their cd-key's.


Really hoping Green Man Gaming's digital trade system will give steam a run for it's money and force steam to adapt their licensing policy. Good idea, but they have such a shitty service atm.

It was never marketed or referred to as an expansion of any kind. It did cost less but it was not connected with Empire.

It was also significantly better.

true, but its still an addon to the empire total war series, which in turn is an expansion of the franchise itself. Plus a number of the game mechanics is the same as empire, but yes, it was better. Not sure if I'd put it in the 'significantly better' category, but it was in the right step direction. Really like shogun2.

Shoot Shogun 2 is the best one out of the box since the original MTW IMO.

Lack of modability in the warscape engine is the only thing holding it back.

@ Flying Tiger: I thought I was having the same issue too, but I had to alt +tab out of the game back to the steam client, go to library and click the borderlands game and cd key on the right. It brings up a menu where you can copy the key you need. When I tabbed back to the game it went to a different screen where I could eventually enter the key. Had to restart at some point in there and I couldn't use the mouse to enter the key, but it eventually worked with some tab and arrow buttoning.

yea i had that problem. it just sat there at the loading screen. what happens is it pops up the DLC activation box behind the actual game "window" so you have no idea why its stopped loading. You should be able to alt tab right to the dialog box, but its probably easier to just manually find and run the activation exes (in the borderlands dir)

I hate this thread and I hate steam. I see these games that got really good reviews and everyone liked that are <$10 and I buy them and then never play them. I have almost 100 games on my steam account valued over $800 and I probably have played maybe 5 of them.
