I didn't mind it. Thought it was decent. Ending was a bit ho-hum.

Middle of that book was great though...I couldn't put it down.

I still think I enjoyed Angels and Demons the most of the Dan Brown books. I also enjoyed Deception Point as well (I think that was the one with all of the ice, i get it confused w/ digital fortress)

I'm so not doing a book a week ...it's more like 2 weeks with zero, and then 1 with 3 or 4...whatever. I'm reading much more, and that's good enough.
--
I checked out 365 Days of Intimacy, and tried to read it today. It's horrible: it reads like an in-class journaling assignment from high school, and then to boot, she must have had a CRAZY horrible editor: quotes opened, and then never closed; "an house"; sometimes her tone was bellicose, and sometimes condescending.

I flipped through it and starting reading random spots in the book, and it's not just the beginning that's horrible.

Just finished High Fidelity. They did such a good job on the movie adaptation. I'm going to try Juliet, Naked, another Nick Hornby novel, next.

If you enjoy kitchen confidential, read Heat by Bill Buford.

bourdain has another book out, too (not exactly recent), but the name of it has slipped my mind.

i think twilight is the shittiest series ever. i understand it was written for a younger audience but its not even good writing.

and i actually think its setting a bad example for all the kids reading it

edward is a possessive asshole and bella is a whiny insecure bitch

but i guess thats how teenagers act, lol

I can understand why New Moon is the cut off point for alot of people in the series. It's 800 pages (give or take) of Bella moping around and being a cocktease to her werewolf best friend. If memory serves me correctly, Eclipse and Breaking dawn are a little more plot driven than the first two books, which makes them more bearable.

Next up, Club Dead.

I won't do 52 books in 52 weeks, but I will catalog what I've read so far this year.

1.
2.
3.
4. currently reading

I swear I read something else too. Maybe I'm thinking of Journal of Foreign Affairs

^^I thought the first two books were really entertaining. Club Dead was a little unimaginative and seemed incomplete. Hopefully, someone will off "Bubba" in book 4. I'd also like to see a return of the Maenad.

I don't read fast enough to finish 52 books in a year, but I've made it a personal goal to read on a more regular basis this year and so far I've been doing a decent job I think.

Since Jan 1:

1. The Audacity of Hope - Barack Obama
2. Star Wars: Heir to the Empire - Timothy Zahn
3. Sphere - Michael Crichton
4. The Greatest Hockey Stories Ever Told - Numerous Authors
5. The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien

In Progress:

Star Wars: Dark Force Rising - Timothy Zahn

^ I think 13 or 26 books in a year would be a huge achievement for most people. I'm on book 12, and I haven't read this much since high school.

^^^ I hope True Blood lasts a few more seasons . I read the plot summary of book 5, and I think Jason's transformation would be pretty hilarious.
