Who were they supposed to get? Keep in mind this is after all other schools have hired coaches and they really did need to hire someone quick since Signing Day is so soon. Not sure what more Hamilton could have done.

Are you trying to say that getting a sub .500 coach who was in a VERY weak conference compared to the SEC, is the best that school could do? Less than 10 years ago Tennessee was a top program and had been so for quite a while. They have a pretty big history and you gotta be able to bring in someone better than that.

Now if he turns out to be the next big thing in coaching, then that's great. But bringing him in was a desperation move for a school that had been turned down by several other coaches that a few years ago would probably have jumped at this position. I mean if you can't pull back a guy who was an assistant for 15-20 years from the football powerhouse of Duke... you're failing somewhere.
