cap creations isn't TOO bad if you build your own. but the large toppings are like $1.50 so that can add up. but a large plain cheese is like 11 or 12 dollars. so if you get more than a couple of toppings yea, you are looking at $20. but their specialty large pizzas are $texas. it is still good though.

on my top 5 for sheezy.

even though i still put pepper's in my top 5. i mean listing a pizza place in charlotte would be one thing but chapel hill is still in the area. and some people frequent chapel hill. and i like pepper's!

and piccola and moonlight.

When we go to Piccolo Italia I started to ask for the pizza to be "well done." They leave it in an extra few minutes and the crust gets crispier and the cheese cooked a bit more. It is perfect...

And on a related note, this guy/girl has definitely eaten at Lilly's:

"Lastly, the service has always been kinda sad at Lily's. I realize they're busy, but there's got to be a way to process orders more quickly. The line is always longer than it should be. It's funny to watch the servers calling out people's names and half the time not finding the patron during their first lap."

One night, I listened to one of the servers obnoxiously yell, "CHUCK! PIZZA FOR CHUCK!" for about ten minutes. Ridiculous.

Thanks for sharing. But don't tell me that I don't know Lilly's or Five Points--that's just bullshit.

Others here know that the pizza's okay but the service sucks and the hipster/yuppie atmosphere is often hard to stomach. They just won't post this because they don't want to be harassed by douchebags and trolls.

Even though, as usual, you have no original commentary to add, because you are a fucking hack

I like the part where you equated "hipsters" with people trying to be "hip"

I don't generally care for the whole hipster scene but there were always plenty of every kinds of people the times I went to Lilly's and I went there a lot since it was a 1/4 mile walk from my g/f at the time's place. My cousin and her husband still go there weekly and they are certainly the furthest thing from that scene.

Also, hooksaw sucks.

[Edited on September 2, 2010 at 4:34 PM. Reason : and how does every effing thread about bars/food/coffe shops turn in to a scene thread??]

Five Points is a pretty diverse area over all. You have old money just down the road north and west of it, young professionals just down the road near Glenwood, "scene" people (whatever scene that is -- doesn't matter) mixed in and even college kids in houses on Oberlin or in apts/condos such as the ones near Broughton.

To say it's a place dominated by hipsters/yuppies (what a weird mix he chose to mention by the way) is flat out wrong and really not based on anything.

I'm still convinced people list I <3 NY for a joke.

Sylvia's genuinely deserves to be on the Best list for so many reasons. Most people that decry it have never eaten there.

I had an interview near CV and decided to eat on H'Boro St yesterday. Had Sylvia's. It was awful. I remember it being much better. The pizza was pretty much yellow. No sauce at all. Blah...

And it's been like three weeks since I had Piccolo. I'm in withdrawal

Just wanted to post about pizza I had today. It was on LivingSocial and only about 3.5 miles from work so I went to Fuhgeddaboudit Pizza on Six Forks. Very good IMO, and the owner is a big Mets fan.

Will try again.
