^ during Earl last year the Virginia newspaper had an article on some robot on the oceanfront that was able to use the data they collected during the storm to show why South Nags Head's erosion is so bad...something like it was an ancient river bed that emptied out to sea in that area iirc

NOGAPS has certainly moved west. Three computer models now have the center tracking closer to the Triangle..

Keep your plans. Unless there is catastrophic damage, coastal areas are remarkably good at reopening to the public quickly after a storm.

Need those tourist dollas yo.

Yeah...I'm taking the ferry from Davis to South Core Banks on 9/6 and staying for 3-4 nights in a tent. Mainly just worried about the Ferry Service getting all fucked up since currently it's right on the path of the NE eye wall, or maybe NC flipping out about erosion/birds/turtles and having to investigate that before they open it back up.

Either way, fingers are crossed. Thing's the size of Floyd but the strength of Fran. Scary shit from someone who was knee deep in both.

Looking more and more like I should head to Scotland Neck and stay with my grandparents to ride it out and watch my house. Would be my luck, FINALLY got it rented today after 8 months on the market and a storm would trash it this weekend.

Looking at the radar, I swear the storm is already moving to the north east. The last few frames clearly has the eye moving to the north east.

I noticed that...but it may created by the western eye wall building.

Guess we'll find out in ~35 minutes

Should've seen this coming, but I just went to Target to get water and they were sold out. Of water. Except that bullshit Smart Water shit that was like $9 for 6 liters. Oh lawd.

Also, I'm worried about our dilapidated beach trailer in Indian Beach WHERE WILL I GO TO DRINK IN THE SUMMER?!?

Really really looks to me like it suddenly starting moving to the north east as it interacts with the system coming through NC now.

TWC said it's not shifting east yet, but just jogging like a zig-zag and it shouldn't effect anything. Pressure is dropping too.

Cheeze, I think they are referring primarily to the north. They are not used to hurr-kins.

It's a Hurricane that will impact well over 40 million people on it's current course... not a few thousand on the Outer Banks.

Well, I can look at the track they projected, and the storm wasnt supposed to be headed north yet, but it is. I am not going to be super surprised to wake up to see the track quite a bit east (which would be great).

Again, they said the tracks not changed. Just jogging. They said it's still going to follow the same path. New stats just in at 11.

11:00pm Stats
Cat 3
115 mph
140 mph gusts
942mb dropping
14 mph n

Accuweather said this has been a wobbly storm. She has jogged east to west and so on. Also Frank Strait said the NAM is not a good indicator of hurricanes.
