My brother's gf used to do it when I was a kid and I remember thinking wtf back then too. It's not that I am particularly grossed out by it or anything, but that I respect my bf enough to let him take care of his own personal hygiene/grooming and don't feel any need to do that for him.

I've been in some heated arguments over whether its acceptable to open a bag of chips upside down, since structurally they're symmetrical, but aesthetically, they're quite different. I stand firm in my belief that anyone who opens the bag upside down is going to hell.
