toilet paper roll position is not relevant to me, it usually sits on the back of the toilet for 2 weeks and then I finally cave and change to old roll out, and the new one is installed with no thought to the direction of the paper.

... the hardwood thing is a good point for puppies, I haven't had a puppy ever I don't think though. I buy them from shelters and are already potty trained for like a fraction of the price as all these crazy people paying $500 for a pee machine that is slightly retarded so you cannot get mad at it, just wipe it up like you are it's bitch.
