I don't think we'd have to win 10 games to make the tournament. We could get in with 8 if one of those comes against Duke or UNC, or if we make it to Saturday in the ACC Tournament (which would, as of right now, mean either beating UVA or FSU plus one bottom feeder on Thurs and Fri).

this conference will get 4 teams in the dance at bare minimum...UVA is gonna be one of those teams, so a 1-point loss to a ranked NCAA tourney team isn't atrocious

even if we finish out 10-6, unless we upset FSU, UNC, or Duke along the way for one of them, we won't have beaten a single tournament team. if VT the past couple of years didn't get in with crap wins, we won't either. it'll take something special in the ACC tournament to get a bid, and I just don't see it

10 conference wins and 21 total is at least in the bubble discussion, the Big Least isnt gonna get 9 teams in this year since they're almost as down as the ACC

Fun game. Wake had a rash of WTF-type shots that went in, but we never blinked.

All five starters were big-time today. Howell was Howell ... Wood was Wood ... Zo was the good Zo ... CJL was only slightly infuriating ... and CJW continues to do just about everything right. Gotta love the throwback mid-range J

21 wins in the regular season gets us in. The Big East is down, the PAC-12 is non-existent, we'll get in with a 10-6 ACC mark. If we slip to 9-7 we're in serious bubble trouble.

In the NCAA tournament, according to the authoritative source on the NIT. Big East gets 8, Big 10 gets 7, Big 12 gets 6. If that's how it pans out, then the ACC gets 5. This is what I've been counting on since Northwestern always looks like this right before they collapse and don't make it after all, and no one else in the Big East or Big 12 will be getting in, and all the other leagues aren't a factor in this.

If we aren't, at least we'd be a top NIT seed.

VT only finished 10-6 one of those years that they allegedly got robbed, they lost in the first round of the ACCT to a terrible Miami team. Even then, they were one of the teams that all the commentators bitched and moaned about.

Plus, there are two more at-large bids now. We finish 10-6 and don't do something stupid in the ACCT and we are in. I'd bet we are in at 9-7 with a decent run in the ACCT. And that's assuming we don't win any of the UNC, Duke, FSU stretch. We win one or more of those and it gets easier.

well, I did say that the only way we get in at 9-7 is if we make a decent run in the ACCT. That usually means beating a tourney team. I just think having 2 extra at large bids is gonna mean a couple more mediocre big six conference teams get in than in the past. We could be one of those teams.

We can make it to 10-6 with our best win in conference being @Miami. If we win the GT, Miami, Clemson and VT games, we make it to 10-6. HOPEFULLY, we can do that AND steal atleast one of the FSU, Duke and UNC games. If we can do that and make it to 11-5, we are in, no questions asked. If we end up 10-6, then we will need to win atleast one game in the ACC Tourney to feel good about our chances.

Our toughest MUST WIN game left is against Miami if you ask me. I'm looking at the GT, Miami, Clemson and VT games as our MUST WIN games left. The Duke, UNC and FSU games are just chances to supplement our resume
