The crazies on PP are killing me. All the transfer talk with Purvis and Lewis is absurd.

Purvis just retweeted a PackInsider link about Desmond Lee too, not something that someone who isn't interested continuing with the program would do.

If we get Lee AND Brown comes back...I am a little worried about our crowded backcourt.

Barber and Purvis are going to want to start...as will Lewis. Its also going to be tough to keep Turner and Lee on the bench, because I think they'll be our best shooters.

And if Brown doesn't come back...that's three guard spots (I'm going the SF into that, because there's no way we don't go small next year) split between Lewis/Purvis/Turner/Barber/Lee...with the possibility of Warren stealing some minutes at the SF if we ever go big.

Gottfried has his work cut out for him trying to figure out that rotation.

How about we load up with depth and the best players get to play. If someone feels they should start then they need to prove it. If they're scared of the competition then they can gtfo.

Sounds good in theory...you just hate to lose a good player if that's the case.

In a perfect world, guys will wait for their time, practice and get better, and be ready when their name is called. But that rarely happens in college basketball these days (except for fucking Duke).

It's a little troubling, but we really need some more skill on this team ... if for no other reason to make practices more competitive. Banging heads with subpar players each day doesn't do anyone any good.

Would be nice to have enough guys to go 5 on 5 in scrimmage without having a few overmatched players. If everyone is back we can go something like:

Lewis
Zo
Turner
CJL
Vandy/Anya/Washington

vs.

Barber
Lee
Purvis
Warren
Vandy/Washington/Anya


That would be a hell of a scrimmage.

Dude was a train wreck offensively at times, but always played hard on defense. He's got all the talent to be an elite offensive player, just needs to spend a lot of time in the gym.

Don't know who originally tweeted that, but would the situation be different if we had lived up to some of the hype? Don't know why the national media people seem to think this kills our program, this was expected - albeit under different circumstances.

I just don't think a lot of these kids can look past the present. At that age I couldn't either. So many times stupid decisions get made.
