the spurs "big 3" is the biggest misnomer of all-time.

Ginobili is an elite player obviously.

But Parker is just average and Duncan is below average.

Their key players are Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard, and Tiago Splitter. Benching the "big three" means ginobili isnt playing and they are slightly worse at PG...

shockingly, Duncan accounts for way more than things that only show up in a box score

Green, Leonard and Splitter are the real Big 3

can't believe you made a blanket statement about a player without knowing anything about the season they're having

You're right I never do that, but we're talking about Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili.

Ginobili has been a stud for basically a decade, Duncan has been a dud for basically five years, and Parker has been average to above average his entire career.

If i was going to make a blanket statement about any three players in the league I would pick them. They are some of the most consistent players in the league every year.

Except this year apparently. I, for one, actually have the nutsac to admit when I'm wrong. It doesn't happen often, enjoy it.

Duncan has been a perennial all star for the last 5 years, how has he been a dud?

LOL. Yeah he was a huge star last year.

"dud" is too strong of a word but he was a below average player last year. He's certainly not a star player he was 10 years ago.

He's not a total anchor like Bargnani or washed up like Dirk, but he hasn't been a very good player the past few years. Just average.

All-Stars don't count in leagues where fans vote.

Over-the-hill/way-past-their-prime guys have been making unwarranted NBA All-Star games for yours.

Duncan's per-36 minute stats have been insanely consistent over his entire career

just cause he hasn't averaged as many minutes per game doesn't mean he has gone from superstar to dud

is he a step slower than he was 10 years ago? sure...is his basketball IQ a notch higher than it was 10 years ago? sure

per-36 minute stats from being an elite player 10 years ago to a dud this year

02-03: 21.3 ppg, 2.7 bpg, 0.6 spg, 3.6 apg, 11.8 rpg, 71% FT, 51.3% FG
12-13: 21.6 ppg, 2.9 bpg, 1.0 spg, 3.0 apg, 11.4 rpg, 76% FT, 52.9% FG

[Edited on November 29, 2012 at 10:01 PM. Reason : what a below-average dud he's become]

[Edited on November 29, 2012 at 10:04 PM. Reason : and since face doesnt care about any of those stats, his WS48 this year is his career-best]

I thought the spurs were going to take it. all those guys can play well and heat always look lackluster.. it looked that way the whole game but Lebron and Ray Allen dont give a shit about the spurs' "well coached fundamental team ball" .

I'm trying to imagine what would happen if the NHL fined a team for starting their backup goaltender on national TV.

I'm pretty sure Brian Burke would lynch Bettman in Times Square.

"He continued on to describe a conversation with Artest in the locker room after the fight that nearly cost him his career, which now spans 12 seasons.

“The funniest thing in the world,” Jackson said, “Ron leans over to me and asks me if we’re going to get into trouble! I looked at him like he was crazy. We laughed so hard. Jamaal (Tinsley) fell out of his locker.

“I looked at Ron and asked him, ‘Do you realize what we just did? We’re lucky if we have a job tomorrow.’ We just went into the stands. We just banged out on fans. Are you serious? Trouble? I couldn’t believe he asked me that.""

I remember watching that and what amazed me is that not only did he go into the crowd( w/ Jackson), but Ron hit the wrong dude. Some innocent dude got jacked in the jaw by Ron Artest's fist.

I thought the he was going to get ejected from the league for life. (he should have). but nope. a couple years later that dude got onto a better team and won championships and cliched game seven when kobe was sucking I believe.

uh, 30 shots really doesn't ever happen from random players.

30?!

Especially since he only hit 9, that's crazy. He's always been one of the lower FG% shooters in the league, so for him to be taking more than ~7-9 is a bad idea. 30 is insane.

had it not been for a 3 with 12 seconds to go, the raptors would have only scored 7 points in the 4th quarter against the Clippers.
