seems like ESPN has been doing this with college football too this year

Probably see the market for it and sense a change in culture.

Then again ESPN went all in on 3D tv...

Seems a lot riskier to take that stance in regards to college games. An NFL guy making $100k-$1MM per game isn't gonna throw a game for $10k. A college kid might.

yeah...seems really strange and unexpected to hear ESPN talking about college betting lines.

I can understand when they show EKU vs NCSU (-26) O/U 42.5, or even hear Corso picking games 'by two touchdowns and a field goal", but having the Gameday guys directly making picks against the spread with a little kid at the desk doing it too is just weird. and that "Cover Alert" they're running now is just goddamn ridiculous

Through 3 quarters:

The Defenses for Balt and Denver are really good.

Stafford and Winston might not be able to recite the alphabet

ESPN I think have accepted the viewpoint that if sports gambling were legalized they could make a lot of money off it, similar to fantasy.

So for tomorrow, I can play one of these guys:

Roddy White vs. Eagles
Darren Sproles @ Falcons
Anquan Boldin vs. Vikings

What do y'all think is my best bet?

I wrote this in the Giants thread, but I'm pissed off enough to post it again.

Before the field goal:
Quote :
"I would go for it on 4th down. If it works, up big. If it doesn't, 99 yards for Romo instead of 80 or less.

Coughlin needs to be more aggressive in these situations. My heart is pounding now because we could loose this by one point."

After the Cowboys scored:
Quote :
"Fuck you Coughlin. So much fuck you. 7 seconds that wouldn't have been on the clock if you call a run on 3rd down on the other side. If you weren't going to go for it on 4th down, then why risk stopping the clock and not scoring?

This game was in hand. I have been this pissed off before after a game, but not after the first game of the season. Fucking christ."

Alex Smith can't throw it more than about 30 yards. Kinda limits Andy Reid's playcalling ability here.

In the 2nd quarter I was telling my wife that they may invent an injury for Peyton so he can bow out with grace/not get openly benched pre-retirement.

He improved, but K.C. turned the ball over all the time last night and we barely won. How Peyton plays now the corners and the safeties don't have to go more than 20 yards out it seems. As a Denver fan, I wouldn't feel too bad about it if we had a solid running game, which it looks we don't.

Elway went through this same thing in the mid-90s and he won 2 Super Bowls thanks to Terrell Davis. Peyton has Brock Osweiler for a backup and C.J. Anderson. I don't get it. Although thankfully the defense has been great.
