Anyone live in Charlotte and know a good place to buy free weights? Want to pick up some adjustable barbells and maybe a curling bar with some weights.

^^^Yeah, based on what you said I would estimate more than 1,500 calories. Drinking calories can be dangerous.

for some reason, I cannot get registered with DailyPlate. I've tried all three browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE). Tried from work computer, from all of my home pc/laptops. I always get the "whoops, error fetching your page" message.

wtf? anyone know what's up with this?

good point.. oh well, it was worth it

http://rockytophospitality.com/lib/upload/menus/BO_Bar_Menu_8.09.08v.4.pdf

I got Lady From Shanghai, Blueberri Lemon, and Maltese Falcon (because of the name bahaha)

in my defense, I skipped getting a side and we split out appetizers between 4 people so I didn't gorge.. so I wasn't completely awful

I don't think there's any defense to make Sam but who gives a fuck as long as you continue your overall fitness drive.

Attn: H8R
I did my elliptical run after I lifted weights.

3x10x60 Clean and Press (so excited to be able to get back up to this weight)
3x10x25 one arm swing (trying 30lb next time)
3x8x100 dead lift (I used the 45lb bar and mixed grip, these sets were too easy, going up to 10 or 12 reps next time)
3x10x35 bicep curl
3x10x20 tricep curl (this one is being upped next time I do it)

Can someone make some suggestions for a healthy, but also calorie dense meal?

I just signed up for daily plate, and its telling me I should be eating a hell of a lot more than I am.

^^^bagels are dense as hell with calories, so make your sandwiches with them instead of bread. Of course, if you're not active enough all those carbs could be detrimental.

Absolutely! Enjoy yourself and as long as you keep pushing it at the gym it'll keep getting better. Your results look great so far.

I just registered for dailyplate. I guess i'll try them both out. Dailyplate seems to have a larger database. The iPhone app for myfitnesspal is free. Dailyplate one is $2.99 i think.

^^of myfitnesspal.com? I'll post some after work. It does all the nutritional information too. I think you have to pay for the gold membership with dailyplate for that.

Do you like French food? La Farm Bakery at the intersection of High House and Cary Parkway.

When do you guys typically weigh in? For consistency? I only starting weighing myself weekly a month ago. I just noticed i was almost 3 pounds lighter after an hour run. I sweat a lot. I figure i'll weigh in each week after my run. That should compensate for food/water etc.

if you know that you lose alot of weight after you run (but probably put it back on later) shouldn't you weigh yourself either first thing in the morning or last thing before you go to bed?

yes. I go to bed hydrated and weigh myself after I wake up and after I use the restroom (if I feel the need), but before I eat or drink anything. This is the most consistent way I can think of for weighing yourself. That 8 hours of sleep can neutralize a lot of extremely short term gain/losses.

Growing up wrestling I was weighing in a few times a day during the season But I always put the most stock in my weigh in directly after waking up. So that is my suggestion

I wrestled too. I could always count on losing a couple of pounds overnight just by sleeping.

End of day weights just fluctuate way too much depending on water intake, exercise, etc; but I don't think it's fair to yourself to count this fluctuation as part of your weight gain/loss measurements.

I weight myself just before I start working out and then directly after, but that's only because the only available scale I have is at the gym.

I kicked around a soccer ball at the SAS fields for an hour. I'm just taking some light shots, about 50% power on my right leg. I can still feel the injury. It feels like a cramping pain, like it's tight. I don't want to push it too hard in case it tears again. I also did some runs up and down the field at a brisk jogging pace. Ultimately I want to be able to sprint again.

same with my injury, I feel the strength is there but I still have a loss of sensation in my toes and ankle so it feel dangerous to do anything other than weight lifting. As soon as my health insurance kicks back in, I'm getting more cortisol shots and physical therapy. 90 day probationary periods suck!

I thought exercising was supposed to give you more energy. How come I'm always tired afterward

^^^Sounds like you're doing it correctly. Just gotta take things easy, stretch a lot before you start playing and do some light laps so that you're warming up the muscles. If its sore or swelling afterward then ice it.

what kind of a turn around are you expecting here? exercise daily for a week and then the next week, see if you're not more "energentic" throughout that week than you were in the past. I hope you're tired AFTER a workout

Sounded like he was referring to being more tired at the end of the workout in general...which is normal.

two 334g scoops...thats what, 334/28 = ~12oz....24oz of powder per serving mixed with 24oz of water.....yea, I can't wait for that to settle

i could easily build a more cost effective and better for mass building meal using all whole foods and still weighing in under 3 net lbs.
