The media has been doing this the whole time. I wouldn't say he was wrong to shoot but I do think he should have called it in and left it at that. If Trayvon had attacked him and had the upper hand he may have felt threatened. He didn't know Trayvon was not armed, the community had seen a fair bit of crime recently, and the guy was getting the better of him...it makes sense he would defend himself.

he should have never apologized to the family, not now any way. Apologies show guilt and guilt can be argued as wrong doing.

The headline is misleading. he didn't "apologize" he said he was sorry for the loss of the families son. that phrasing is way better that say "i apologize for what happen to your so" or "that your son is dead"

Yup, I also think it was a terrible situation that could have been avoided, but from all the evidence that is available it looks like his self defense story is probably true. It's unfortunate and a kid is dead, but i don't think Zimmerman should end up in prison. Maybe something else pops up and I'll change my mind, but at minimum I think the prosecution will be unable to prove 2nd degree murder.

How do you figure? We still don't have information on what led up to the altercation, who initiated the confrontation, who was acting in self-defense initially. We don't have any of those answers yet, and when those questions are asked, we'll only get one side of it because the other person is dead.
