I think i've got my eye on halo 3, mass effect, and assassin's creed for the year
nothing else is really jumping out at me...i'm sure i'll have plenty of rentals, but purchases? eh... 8/2/2007 4:00:19 PM |

bioshock (i have already paid for this in fact), gta iv, are cod4, are definite buys. assassin's creed, hl2-ob, are maybes. medal of honor airborne, and stranglehold are huge maybes. nothing else really appeals to me between the last release of these games and re5. i may go back and rent some of the older games that i have not played yet, eg, condemned.

i've been sitting on Condemned and Quake for forever
I tried to pop in Quake the other week since I was sort of in GOW/COD3 mode and up for an FPS but compared to those two games I was like "this kinda sucks" 8/2/2007 4:47:38 PM |

Resident Evil 5 is the only upcoming 360 game I'm looking for.
I love the 4 games I got, (Perfect Dark, Full Auto, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and dead rising). I just feel they are coming out with too many shooters and sports/racing games, I have weird tastes in games I guess.
Oh! when is Fable 2 coming out?? 8/2/2007 9:31:03 PM |

meh most of the 360 games seem much better over live than for 4player splitscreen. just how things are nowadays. games have a lot more going on, which makes splitscreen kinda suck.

^^^ The problem with FF is that there is a slowdown that wasn't present on the original xbox
For those of you that know the game, there is one mini-game where you are running on a rotating pole, having to either jump or duck to avoid obstacles. The emulation is working so hard (i guess) that the game never really speeds up until about 4 minutes in, which is much longer than the original 8/6/2007 11:29:03 AM |
Duncan All American 1442 Posts user info edit post |
I think he's talking about 360 games, as in Fusion Frenzy 2.
But yes, sometimes emulation is a pain. If I played Halo 2, I played it on my old xbox (before I modded it).
Many games work perfectly, however. Ninja Gaiden Black ftw. 8/6/2007 12:44:35 PM |

^^ you dont need a receipt. Your serial number on the system is all they ask for. I am pretty sure when you buy the xbox 360, it gets scanned or something. 8/7/2007 9:23:43 AM |

no, they can base it off the serial number, i think they also used to put on the back when it was manufactured, etc so they'll know how old it is 8/7/2007 10:04:08 AM |

I'm probably gonna upgrade to an Elite if I get an HDTV.
That is, unless they put the HDMI port on the Premium (I heard that rumor as well.) You can get HDMI cables for $10 online and I really don't need a 120GB HD.
I'd also like to know when they are going to start using the smaller, cooler chips. 8/7/2007 3:20:57 PM |

It looks like they might be discontinuing the Core altogether... I just saw a post (joystiq or kotaku) where a Target employee is showing the computer there and it has the Core listed as 'discontinued'.
This follows a story about 2 weeks ago from a Best Buy employee who also found that the Core was showing up discontinued in the Best Buy system.
Since my bedroom LCD does VGA input, I might just get the premium pack and use VGA. Can you do full 1080p over VGA (if watching an HD-DVD for example?) 8/7/2007 3:39:14 PM |

Although this is an old game, and may have been mentioned somewhere in the past 61 pages, I have to say that the car customization options in Saints Row are incredible. It's easily the best GTA ripoff I have ever played, in some ways it's better than the original.
