LaQuinton Ross scored 24 points Warren Central on Friday and 26 points against Madison Central on Tuesday in the first round of the Regional Tourney.

Rodney Hood scored 15 points on Tuesday night in the first round of their regional tourney. They beat Oak Grove 74-42.

DeMarcus Cousins helped lead his LeFlore team to a Regional Championship. They play a home game tomorrow night against Spanish Fort in the first round of the 5A State Tournament.

he is being pessimistically realistic IMO about Wall and Cousins.... If you believe the quotes from him in the papers, he wants a team that can "run the floor with him" and "those guys are going to have to get alot better" (meaning us)....

Of course that could just be spin from the N&O....

If we somehow finish near .500 in the ACC and go deep in the tourney / make NCAA or NIT, then things may change?

^the funny part about the whole "run the floor" debate....Memphis doesn't run quite as much this year as people assume they do. The fact is, it is really hard to run without the horses. I have a pretty good feeling that with Wall/Mays/CJ/Lo Brown/and tracy smith we will be running wild. I am sure sid is chomping at the bit to run a more wide open style of ball, and we have seen some flashes of it this year. If wall commits, we instantly become a running team.

^^again, its a chicken/egg argument. I know its just a quote, and the guy had to say something, but with Wall we DO get a lot better. Simple as that. Added to the recruits we already have. Only other thing we can do is land a solid post player. Beyond that, what is he asking us to do? Practice harder? Just seems like a silly comment to me I guess!

here is the thing...the NCAA is looking into the whole recruitment of Wall. Wall "could be" stringing everyone along and commit to Baylor and by waiting until April, taking all of his visits and playing this game it would make committing to Baylor "less" shady. But this is just speculation.

Sidney has been speaking with the Cliftons and is really staying in front of Wall as much as he can. Wall has been with the team after our Miami win and after our Carolina loss ... Wall has said that he is torn about staying at home, being the man and he has also said the would like to go to Memphis but b/c of all the situation feels the need to stay close to home for his mom.

as of right now, from everything i have heard and read is that he really doesnt know where he is going to wind up. its a well known fact that had we landed Favors, Wall would have committed to us as well.

now, we really need for Cousins to commit to NCSU. Cousins didnt sign up for foreign language for nothing; Memphis doesnt require it. Thats one hell of a positive for us. we are still very much in the mix for both DC and JW at this time. We also have some Plan B's in the works if those two doesnt work out.

I really don't expect Wall to come, i have been a wolfpack fan for a while. i havent heard or read a thing that agree with what you are posting about.

he may not come here...but there is a strong possibility that he may. a lot of it has to do with how

our current team finishes, who sticks around and how our recruiting finishes up.

Jamie, Cousins' decision is a ways out also. We are really recruiting his mother as she really likes

Sidney lowe, Memphis is taking a different approach. He still hasnt taken the SAT or the ACT so he

cant go on any OV's until that is taken care of. We are getting an OV from Cousins and word is he

will not decide until he takes a few of those visits.
