GT 5 Prologue looks awesome! The track environment could use some work. but the cars are amazing. I wasn't impressed with the off track dirt effects though.

linksys or dlink for wireless router?

i have linksys, i get signed out every once in a while, says connection error or something.

do i have t open a port for the ps3??

a seperate Q bout the router... i lose a signal once in a while, meaning both laptops cant find a connection, but if we hard wire it it will hook up, so i know its the wireless router. i went through step by step instructions with linksys on the phone to hook it up.

when its connected it works great, but once in a while it says its searching and i would have to pull the plug on the router and reset it to get a connection back.

my best experiences with routers in general have been with linksys. if you have a remotely newer one i wouldn't think you would have any problems at all assuming things are properly configured. afraid i can't speak specifically for networking with ps3 though

hmm i even went through the tutorial of setting up my ports.

and i enabled DMZ. still no workie. still says NAT type 3.

people are telling me go with other routers when it comes to ps3 and/or gaming.

are you people using linksys?

I think mine says NAT type 3 as well
I use linksys and it works fine for me. Did not have to do anything special from what I remeber.

i play nfs or fifa08, even if i dont play online, it still logs me into ea sportsworld or ea need for speed world.

and when i stop playing, my linksys router disconnects or something. i have to go upstairs and reboot the router. really annoying.

Man they are STILL putting out shitty ports for PS3. That's the problem, they need to fix that to increase ps3 game sales.

Burnout Paradise, on the other hand, runs + looks better on the PS3 than X360. So at least it's not so one-sided now.

You know as well as I that this problem doesnt just reside with Turok. This is an example of this far along in the lifecycle it is beyond me why it still happens. Those screenies are vomit inducing.

I've played both re: Burnout. Yeah, slightly better, more optimized, but it's by no means profound....nor do I feel 360 owners got the shaft at all.

Yeah, you're right. In the case of Turok, both 360 and PS3 owners got the shaft because the game is shit.

Ok, I'll bite. Show me another example from a game this "far along in the lifecycle". Preferably a game people might care about. Shitty developers = shitty games = shitty ports. That will probably never change. Pretty much all the AAA multi-platform titles have gotten solid PS3 ports, along the lines of Burnout for the 360.

that's not the point all ye 'HAR DUDE THIS IS BETTAR ON PC - IT DOESNT MATTER' 3rd party ps3 port dev defenders. The point is that for consumers, and a great deal of mainstream that don't have a PC like that or would rather have it on a console - it absolutely hurts sales and your platform to have your version suck gordon freeman's left nut.

It's a completely viable title on the console, not yours or my cup or tea...but still completely viable. I have many friends that own it and love it on the 360.

I have to agree that the ports that look shitty are for the most part shitty games and/or done by EA. Madden is just horrible. I hope they can fix that trash for 09, but I doubt it.

Yes, they did just say "fuck it". Funny, now Valve is issuing a survey to people who bought the Orange Box asking how the game can fixed. So there might be hope for a fix, afterall.


I wasn't trying to start a flamewar w/my comment about Turok + Burnout. I'm just saying, no one cares about Turok. Even if it were a perfect port it's still be shit.

And Burnout Paradise is by no mean leaps and bounds better on the PS3, I'm just pointing it out because more and more devs seem to be making the PS3 their lead SKU. Yes, overall there are still way too many shitty ports. I don't particularly care whether the 360 version is better or worse, but at least they are both running smoothly.

If you look back ~1 year, ALL the PS3 ports were inferior (and by a large margin). So it's a start.

Dammit Haze was delayed to 'anytime in their fiscal year up to April 2009'. Good lord, that could be anytime, and well - any game delayed multiple times gives me bad juju.

Not that I was hugely tweaked about it, but it was exclusive to ps3 and seemed to be a pretty big production effort.
