I have a new found love for Mondays because I know this one dramatic homosexual chick wont be there to go biopolar on me or anyone else. Its really nice because I know my day has the potential to go well, as well as, for everyone else I work with. I don't understand WHY she is still working there because her personality is quite toxic to the working environment.

I'm hungover, hungry, and sleepy. The printer guy is here to replace toners and whatnot. I asked him if he could look at my color printer, and he just talked to me for 10 min about what the issues could be.

"you know its like a car....you don't wanna drop a new transmission, or in this case new electrical bits, and then your motor blows out next week."

every birthday celebration at work has been awkward as fuck, ever since i started. this time, my boss made a joke about "la cucaracha" to a hispanic girl. last time, he told the new receptionist that it's customary for new employees to give a strip tease.

it's pretty uncomfortable. the people who aren't idiots tend to just stand in the corner and not say anything.

i could tell you worse stories, but i don't want to reveal my occupation. i will say that one of them involves joking about setting the same hispanic girl's newborn child on fire.

My one co-worker is so intense. She's an older lady who doesn't understand technology. Anything that happens wrong, my god you would think the world was ending! oh my god oh my god!

I'm so laid back and so constantly hearing someone freak out is starting to get to me.

Yesterday she wanted me to draw up a document, like immediately. It was so intense! Had to be done right away!!!!! omg!
but apparently I didn't do it the way she wanted. and She was all omg why can't you do this!!!!

I just turned to her and said "Do it yourself"

Everyone at my new work is a fat-fat. I realize this is a desk job and there are magical vending machines every three feet but these people reward their teams with food (we are getting pizza today and cupcakes). My problem is I am trying to quit fat-fatness sooooooooooooo this is detrimental to my progress.

Also, my butt is already hurting for sitting so long.


Otherwise, this job is a dream.

When trying to set up contacts, someone responds one time with interest and then stops responding altogether. It's cool if you don't want to work with us, but just let me know so I know you aren't going to come back in two weeks and be mad that we went with someone else because you weren't answering calls or emails.

just got word that a tanker truck carrying hazardous material has overturned and leaked all over the road, on the road i'd take to go home

due to bridges and shit, there's not another way home, except by adding 15 miles to the trip home.

however, that road is straight up closed.

My boss is taking micromanagement a little too far, that's pretty annoying.

We have people check out and record all the structural information on some of our towers and sometimes this includes excavating things. Apparently somebody thinks it's OK to excavate 1 of 3 things though not all 3 things will be identical. This somebody is not an engineer. Many people involved with these things are not engineers. They will argue with engineers until they are blue in the face because they are missing the big picture about why we can't do things a certain way.

There's a lot more.

I kind of hate people a lot. People aren't very smart or ambitious overall and that makes my job difficult.

Background Disclaimer: I work in a call center and so that we can see the same thing our customers see online we have a program called "pretender." We use this to walk customers through processes online. It DOES NOT actually process anything when we use it.


So this dumbass (I can only hope he was a new hire) used pretender to "process" a loan for a customer. Then told the cusotmer he'd get the money in 3 business days. Of course nothing processed. So I got the call today and had try to explain what happened without throwing the other rep under the bus.

we have a "flower lady" who comes to the office once a week and you can buy flowers from her. we get an email about it 15 minutes before the flower lady comes and then the receptionist gets on the intercom and notifies us TWO more times that the flower lady is here.

The woman whose job I now have, she left back in November for another job, wants her old job back (my job).
Thank god they said no.


What a psycho though! It's a very small organization with 3 full-time employees, including me. I, of course, inherited her computer and it was never reformatted. This woman would type up these passive-aggressive rants about people here and other places, save them to this computer, and password protect them. I never knew what these documents were about until the other day when I figured out the password (can't believe I didn't think of that before). It's just insane what they say, and a lot of them are about one of the men I work with. Who does that!?
