He clearly remembers it, and I don't fault the guy for not wanting to talk about getting SMASHED by ECU to the tune of 70 points.

At the same time, I think he should be adult enough about it to acknowledge he remembers it but moved on right after the game and doesn't care to discuss it.

Bahahaha! Work will be even more fun than when we beat them. We are at least in their conference. But EZU and especially as bad as they have been just curbed stomped the Heels. Fucking gold!

The "Do we lose to ECU" thread that started last week on inside Carolina during the ECU/A&T game is hilarious if you read through the posts prior to this game. Some pack fan on the website just bttt.

I don't think they want to pay fedora's buyout right now.

also hopefully this blowout will help Scottie Montgomery to keep his job. Let us keep distancing ourselves from the rest of the D1 programs in the state.

God the tears on IC are delish.

But honestly, we need them to win enough games this year for Fedora to survive to next year.

Would be nice for him to be a lame duck this off-season, so we can continue to get momentum in recruiting.

I don't think they'll fire him unless he goes 0-fer. They owe him way too much money.

You can't keep a dead-man walking just because you owe him a lot of money. I think the PTB thought that UNC might limp to a 5-7, 6-6, 7-5 type of year and they could justify keeping him for another year and let the buy-out money go down. But he's looking at 2-10/3-9 type shit. No P-5 school keeps a coach doing that in years 6 and 7.

A high buyout is a deterrent sometimes, but if it’s *that* bad, they’ll find a way to make it happen.

I want them to lose their games so bad that no respectable coach, particularly the App State and JMU coaches, want to go there and would rather wait for other P5 conference schools to open up. I want their coaching search to be worse than the Sidney Lowe search.

Found this on PP which was found on IC in regards to Fedora’s buyout

From IC, the Hat's buyout :
Buyout after 2017: $17,500,000
Buyout after 2018: $14,000,000
Buyout after 2019: $10,500,000
Buyout after 2020: $7,000,000
Buyout after 2021: $3,500,000
Buyout after 2022: $0

Holy hell that is a big buyout.

Not that I like to defend UNC, but he just had them playing in the ACC Championship game, was being courted by bigger schools, and the NCAA hadn't finished their investigation. I don't know if they HAD to pay him that much, but he had to paid.

I think if they hadn't been going through the NCAA mess, then they could have let him walk or not given such a ridiculous contract. But if your coach leaves in the middle of a major investigation, then your program is pretty much fucked. With that being said, he ended up fucking them anyways by continuing to be the horrible coach that he is.

I think the Fedora being "courted by bigger schools" was getting blown out of proportion. He kept using that for leverage but I honestly never saw any major schools targeting Fedora at any point.

Not to say it isn't true, I just think he leveraged that ACC Title into a big deal(as he should have) and UNC was scared of him getting poached so they threw in huge buyouts to protect their investment. That usually is a good idea(like we did with our assistants and it kept Kevin Patrick from being poached this year) unless your coach turns into a pumpkin before midnight and you're stuck with it longer than you'd like to be.

UNC is going to improve(Surratt coming back will probably help), and I think UNC is going to try to get this UCF game cancelled with the hurricane if they can, because right now they're realistically looking at heading into their BYE week at 0-5.

He is just as terrible as Elliott.

Also, they gave Fedora that extension after they went 8-5 (with the future #2 pick at QB) and were a year removed from that championship game appearance. They overpaid him because they were scared of him bolting during yet another NCAA investigation as well as to try and help with recruiting and the issue of coach security that other schools had been successfully using against them. At this point I'm just hoping he runs a clean program so they can't fire him for cause.

Yeah Surratt isn’t *that* good. he was benched in favor of Elliott last year, right? I feel like they’ll finish 3-9 or so, about like last year. This year’s team seems worse, but I think they’ll steal a couple wins to avoid 1-11.

^ He actually got injured last year. He might have been able to come back, but Elliott was playing okay.

Chazz has a higher ceiling because of his athleticism and everyone has a stronger arm than Elliott...but he sucked donkey balls under pressure last year. And UNC's o-line doesn't look much better. He MIGHT get them one win that Elliott couldn't get...but its not like they'd be bringing in Russell Wilson.

"Will UNC football players suspended for canceled UCF game have to sit out an extra game?"

Quote :
"Bobby Hundley, a UNC football spokesperson, clarified late Tuesday that even though the Tar Heels’ Saturday home game against Central Florida was canceled due to Hurricane Florence, all nine players who were suspended for four games will not have to sit out an extra game.

Those players were suspended for 30 percent of the season. So, if UNC only plays 11 games instead of the previously scheduled 12, those players will only have to sit out three games total.

Along with Surratt, wide receiver Beau Corrales, defensive end Tyrone Hopper, linebacker Malik Robinson and offensive linemen Brian Anderson, Quiron Johnson and Jordan Tucker, will all be eligible to return against the game at Miami.

If UNC does decide to schedule a 12th game this season, once the team announces that game, the players will have to sit out the following game."

Not quite as bullshit as Grayson Allen's "indefinite" suspension, but definitely some bullshit.

4* game suspension

* = probably 3

Yeah that's some real bullshit.

Also 30% of 11 is 3.3 so they should have to sit out a third of a game as well in this scenario.

watching that game was beautiful. every time they showed Fedora he just had a blank confused look on his face. the players didn't even seem to care that much no one seemed upset on the sideline it's like they've just accepted their fate. reminds me of Gottfried's last year
