He's got no ties to this area whatsoever, and the reporters here are grasping at straws. He may have been sports reporting for 20 years, but that doesn't mean shit to me. He's got zero link to VCU, Richmond, NC State, or Raleigh, and all of a sudden he's scooped every reporter in the country?

I think I'd be ok with Shaka as long as we don't overpay. He doesn't have a lot of experience but he is a young energetic guy who his players play hard for. If we are gonna take a risk I see a lot of possible upside and this deep run in the tourney is at least great on the job training.

Swaim seems to be a self-inflated egotist and I would put MONEY on him making up sources. There is no way this no-name guy out of San Antonio Texas all of a sudden has inroads into our program and its decision making parties. None. Especially given the circumstances.

If our players played as hard as Shaka has his playing right now, we'd be in the tournament. He gets the most out of everyone who plays for him. I'm aboard the Shaka Train. Miller, Barnes, Donovan are all a pipe dream, let's get the young energetic guy who was an assistant under Donovan. The results can't be worse than they've been.
