PackPlayer12 I hope you are someone afiliated with the program and not someone willing to (cleverly I'll admit) spend $5 to troll. If you are affliated can you tell Tracy Smith to stop missing so many layups. Thanks. He's a beast but damn he misses a lot of 2 footers.

^just to be fair, Smith has the second highest fg% (51%) on the team behind mccauley, and went 5-8 against GT.

[Edited on February 16, 2009 at 9:15 AM. Reason : although he did miss out on a lot of "old-fashioned" 3pt plays]

Scott Wood's Marion Giants cliched at least a share of the Conference title by defeating Logansport on Sat. night. Wood had 23 points.

come the fuck on people

like a coach would log onto TWW to let us know

cause that's definitely what they'd be thinking...
1) "Holy fuck, we got Cousins! That's fucking rad!"
2) "I must alert the internets!"

^I can believe it.

Like when you get with a chick that's insanely hot, but tells you not to tell anyone. In theory, you know should keep your mouth shut ... but you're so pumped, you can't. So you start dropping not-so-subtle hints all over the place.

I'd take a recruiting violation any day.

We'd go undefeated in regular season play next year but be banned from post-season play. The following year we would win a National Championship

Hi EVERYBODY, this is Levi Watkins here. A certain John Wall told a certain NC State that he was coming here and wants to play the entire 4 years. Don't tell anybody about this or it will be a recruting violation, since I am Levi Watkins.

ESPN INSIDER: Doug Gottlieb
North Carolina State

What was left: Herb Sendek was good, but not great at NCSU, and seemingly every year his job was said to be on the line. So when Arizona State came open, Sendek jumped, and NC State looked for someone to take the Wolfpack back to the two national titles it had previously won. Sidney Lowe was a Wolfpack great and had NBA experience. After nearly landing John Calipari and Steve Lavin, NC State settled on the alum Lowe.

North Carolina State
Grade: D
Outlook: D (without John Wall)

Expectations: High. From David Thompson to Sidney Lowe and all the way to Lorenzo Charles to Fire and Ice, NC State has been, at some points of time, on par with Duke and North Carolina in the ACC. The expectations are to compete with UNC and Duke on a more regular basis.

How is it going: Poorly. NC State has had injuries and general dysfunction during Lowe's tenure in Raleigh. J.J. Hickson going 19th in the draft is far and away the highlight of the Lowe era to this point. Injuries to Engin Atsur in Year 1 and Farnold Degand in Year 2, and Brandon Costner's general disappearance as a talent have all combined to put Lowe in a precarious situation.

What we can learn: Coming to college from the pro ranks can easily be done, but it is much easier if you have coached at the college level before. From contacts in recruiting to the need for better point guard play, Lowe has been slow to come around to the nuances of the college game.

Former star players who are in the NBA have to completely invest themselves in the college game, otherwise they are just a name to a booster."

^ I would agree with the grade thus far; however, even without Wall, I feel our outlook to be better than a D.

Not really related to recruiting, but how old is that article? He mentions the injuries and JJ, but it sounds like Doug hasn't actually watched a Wolfpack game this season. It's a piss-poor "evaluation".

As far as:

Quote :
"...and Brandon Costner's general disappearance as a talent have all combined to put Lowe in a precarious situation."

Compared to his impressive redshirt freshman year, (i'm assuming that's what doug is using as a comparison), Costner is averaging 6 fewer minutes and 1 or 2 less points and rebounds, but slightly better in every other stat (except steals - .8 to .6). Not exactly a "general disappearance".

[Edited on February 16, 2009 at 11:37 PM. Reason : and what's this bs about a "future outlook of 'D' w/o JW"?]

Doug Gottlieb is another one of those sports writers who are in love with UNC and Duke and for some reason view State as the spawn of satan. I would say our outlook grade is much better than a D. I've learned from many of his articles that Gottlieb is not the brightest person.

he uses his fathers legacy to make people think he knows anything about basketball

hes a douche bag and it comes through in real life and on the camera as well.

he did a game here a few years ago and a few students tried to talk to him and he blew them off and wouldnt speak with them...so we called him a douchebag as loud as possible every time he was on camera.

he has never liked state, always downgraded us and obviously has no idea what he is talking about this year or any year past, his predictions are usually completely wrong.

you'll NEVER be your father Dougie.

DeMarcus lead his LeFlore Rattlers to the Area championship. He scored 33 points in the championship game over Faith Academy. He then went on this past Friday night to score 21 points, rip down 13 boards, and throw 7 blocks in a victory over Spanish Fort in the 1st round of the State Playoffs.
