I've got tomorrow off, as long as this developer gives me the data load I need in order to implement on this production database before 5pm today. Something tells me expecting a programmer to complete a task on time is a little naive.

^^ I hope you don't lose your job, you seem to really like it.

No no, like.. these guys perk up and go outside the door to make catcalls when they hear stillettos click clacking down the hallway.

^^ I'd be bummed, but it's an opportunity to do something more exciting. It's such a pain to move to a new city. though. Any big plans for your Friday off?

^ LOL. Never been in an office like that. My only prob is with creepy strangers at work sending me disturbing personal emails that have to be forwarded to HR. I'm a weirdo magnet at work.

Friday will consist of cleaning up the apartment, doing laundry, relaxing, cooking a little, and perhaps poker later with friends off Trailwood (5 dollar buy-in).

quick question TWWers...

isn't the rule of a resume that you only add to a job description new skills learned? so while at my first job I have tasks ABC that I did...while I also did them at my second I don't put ABC, but add new skills DEF?

that sounds right, but I would probably put a line in there that you continued doing ABC in job #2 just to show that you have lots of experience in it and didnt stop doing it after the first job

unless they arent the most desirable jobs to do or skills to have (making copies, etc.)

you need to generally show a progression of skills and responsibilities, assuming this is a career-track resume that you wish to create. if i'm a hiring manager, i'm going to look to see that a person shows some ambition, and showing a natural progression of responsibilities is a great way to do it.

however, depending on the type of job you're applying for, you should also look at having an alternate resume, which shows years of experience performing some tasks. some jobs require consistency moreso than ambition.

I already left a message with the woman that handles the benefits. If it can't be resolved with a simple phone call to BCBS on their part, I'm mailing them my doctor bill when it comes in and a copy of this letter.

Or, perhaps just play it safe and make a roasted red pepper hummus.

I would not actually do that to other people.

I've eaten too much hummus lately though, so not that either. Maybe mini quiches or something. Or something with avocado, because I want some.
