Cedric Benson likely out for the remainder of the season
Quote : | " Cedric Benson is expected to miss the remainder of the season after spraining his left ankle on Sunday. He's slated to be examined further this morning, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. "They told me not to say anything," Benson said.
There should be a more definitive read on his status after results of his morning exam are released, but it sounds like (the other) Adrian Peterson will be starting at running back for the Bears going forward." |
Adrian doesn't make a bad play next week against the Giants next week if this is the case. Pick him up!

TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148450 Posts user info edit post |
Unless anything drastic changes I'd say Steven Jackson is a definite start at RB for the rest of the year (unless you have Ladainian, Westbrook, Addai, etc and are LOADED at RB)
This week alone I'd take him versus Atlanta over Peterson versus the Giants, although Peterson was a good pickup now that Benson is out

gotta pick up a WR due to the Hackett injury.. should I go with: -A. Gonzalez vs vs Jax(I have Harrison, incase he decides to go this week.. Guy I'm playing also has Manning so if he throws any to Gonzalez I can cancel it out) -Justin Gage vs Hou.(had a pretty good last 3 weeks) -Shaun McDonald @ Min. -Sidney Rice vs. Detroit(probably my least favorite in this list because of the inconsistency of the Min QB and the fact that they should run all over Det.)

Gage. Tennessee has gone to the pass a little more recently, Houston has a weak defense overall, and Gage has averaged around 85 yards a game for the past three games, if I remember correctly.
Gage is a solid shot at getting you 80 yards and a TD, but with all the other weapons Peyton has, Gonzalez is a longshot for similar numbers. Minnesota has a great pass defense which eliminates McDonald, and with such a strong run attack, they have no reason to go through the air often enough to make Rice a good play. 11/28/2007 12:44:40 PM |

Bulger nor Garcia is hat bad of a play this week.
Both are probably better than any "sleeper" that could potentially be available on your waiver wire. 11/28/2007 4:10:44 PM |

I'd consider picking up David Garrard if he is available in your league...he's not gonna throw for 350 and 3 TDs but he'll probably throw for 225 with 2 TDs and 40 rushing yards and ZERO INTERCEPTIONS ON THE SEASON
He might be gone but most leagues dropped him when he got hurt]11/28/2007 4:44:21 PM |

Last regular season week.....Who to start....pick 1:
Cotchery (questionable) @ Miami Crayton (Probable) tonight vs GB Chris Henry @ Pit Anthony Gonzalez vs Jac (Im leaning towards him long as Harrison is out)
And then pick 3: Jamal Lewis @ Ari (pretty positive) Ryan Grant @ Dal Kolby Smith vs SD (Current starter) Rudi Johnson @ Pit Jesse Chatman vs NYJ (Current starter if healthy) Ron Dayne @ Ten

Geez my QB situation is in the shitter.
Injured: McNabb and Garcia
Back-ups: Boller, Trend Edwards, John Beck
On the Waiver-Wire: Culpepper, T. Jackson, T. Dilfer, Vinny T., Luke McCown(Garcia's back-up)
And I have to start TWO.
Do I stick with my current starters: Beck Edwards, despite the Redskins will be playing their hearts out
Or pick up one of those back-ups and roll the dice? 11/29/2007 9:06:52 AM |

I need to start a second WR. Which one do I play?
D Mason vs NE C Henry vs Pitt Injured Cotch vs Miami Reggie Williams vs Indy
or Pickup Joe Jurevicius, Arnaz battle, James Jones, or other?
I need a win this week to secure a playoff spot. With such a crappy team I can't believe I have a chance to get blown up against in the playoffs. But I want to make sure at least I get there. 11/29/2007 10:33:34 AM |

Lewis for sure... he's been doing well and has good match ups the rest of the season (NYJ, Cin, Buf, SF).
I need help with this:
MJD vs Indy or MB3 vs GB?

Half of my team is injured:
Santonio Holmes, Steve Smith, Marc Bulger, Marshawn Lynch, Marvin Harrison. Plus Portis might be out and Cotchery is questionable. I had to pick up garbage like Gage and Kevin Walters just in case. Fuck damn.
Still have only lost twice though thanks to Romo and have clinched my playoff spot. 11/29/2007 12:51:17 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148450 Posts user info edit post |
^^I like MJD....Indy's run defense is pretty good when Bob Sanders is playing but Jacksonville is a power team who loves to run, and iirc Jones Drew has done pretty well against Indy
MB3 could be a good play but I like Green Bay's linebacking core as well...I think it will be the Favre and Romo show so play the QBs, Driver, TO, Jennings, Witten
^yeah injuries are a bitch...the week after Santonio scored 2 TDs I traded him for Favre...now I've won 2 straight and I'm in 5th place 1 game out of 4th/3rd with 2 games to go...top 4 make the playoffs

I would honestly take Kolby Smith there. There is a chance that Lewis could have a bang up game, but KC doesn't have a passing game at all, whereas it's feasible that Anderson could get all the TDs through the air. 11/29/2007 1:59:20 PM |

pick two:
Ryan Grant @ Dallas Thomas Jones @ Mia Travis Henry @ Oak Rudi Johnson @ Pit
and pick three:

Jones (It's Miami... they'll hopefully be up and running the clock out later), Henry (It's Oakland, did you see how much they gave up last week?)
Branch (DJ Hackett is out and Philly's secondary isn't the best and SEA is throwing 40+ a game), Henry (Will be throwing alot too), Walker 11/29/2007 3:42:44 PM |

the thing about Travis Henry is you need to keep an eye out until game time to whether he, Selvin or Andre Hall are gonna get the majority of the carries...we all know how Denver will put anybody in the backfield 11/29/2007 3:58:17 PM |

I was thinking about starting both Chester and AD this week, since they're gonna likely split carries and anyone can run vs Detroit
Its either I play them both and start one of Fargas or Bush, or play one of them and start both Fargas and Bush
The main thing is I'm afraid if I only play one of Peterson/Taylor, then whichever one I sit is gonna have the better game 11/29/2007 4:20:56 PM |

why AP over chester? I mean, if AP was completely healthy, then yeah, I get it. Every report I have read is that he may have limited availability. Especially with Taylor lighting it up the last two games, I have got to think both of them will have reduced carries. If I had another choice, I wouldn't start either of them, but as it is I am leaning for Taylor for one more week and then switching to AP next week. 11/29/2007 5:21:13 PM |
rflong All American 11472 Posts user info edit post |
^ Taylor did not exactly light it up last week. He had like 70 yards on 30 carries. Yeah he got a TD, but his YPC was horrible. 11/29/2007 5:29:47 PM |
