Why does anyone think Jon Snow gives a fuck about his vows anymore? He already had sex with that Wildling girl. The only reason he went up there was because he never thought he could amount to anything because he was a bastard. If it turns out he has a decent claim to be King of the North, I can't help but think he would jump on that in a second.

Also, the way claims work is that there is an ordered succession of who gets a claim. It's starts with first-born sons and then works its way down to the youngest son of the current king. If the son that will inherit the throne is too young, that is a weak claim. If there is no son, there are other orders that can be used but they are all weaker such as: a female inheriting the throne, a brother of the king inheriting the throne, a bastard son inheriting the throne, etc. The further down the order of succession you go, the weaker the claim. The way you challenge a weak claim is usually with an army. That's why all this shit is going down in Westeros right now and why we're so interested. It started with the Targarians being deposed.

Dany has a weak claim because she is actually the last living Targarian, but she is a woman. Everybody assumes that Joffrey is the legitimate son of Robert. But when Ned Stark presented evidence that he was an incest child, Robert's two brothers rose up against Joffrey because they thought they had a weak claim and the Starks went to war because they believed Joffrey did not have a claim at all. The reason all these wars are going down is because no one really has a legit claim on the throne so everyone sees this as an opportunity to seize power and begin their dynasty. It's not just because some rich guy has a huge army and felt like trying to start shit. That's not how it works because that person would never have the support of his subjects and he'd probably be trying to put down rebellions and assassination attempts for the rest of his life.

How many episodes this season have featured Dany as the very last scene? Probably at least 6/10... if not more.. I wish they would have shown more of her this season. All the commercials and promos on TV play into the whole Dany with dragons thing.

Even my friends who don't watch the show say, "oh isn't that the show with the blonde girl with dragons".. They think the whole show is about her.

Well they still have to follow the book, and right now her story is a little slow in the book. I think they show her at the end for the reasons that you stated...she's a ratings grabber. If they did these scenes in the middle, they risk being forgotten. Putting these scenes at the end is kind of a reminder..."Hey guys...blondie with dragons is still a threat while y'all squabble over land about to be overrun with ice zombies."

At the same time...they can't just make up shit for her to do over there.
